HMV SINGAPORE no longer selling JP pressing??

Hey fellow singaporeans! is it just me or has our local HMV no longer bringing in jp press?? Just now I called HMV to enquire on RnRC..
Me: hello, is RnRC in already?
HMV employee: yes sir it is.
Me: what country pressing?
HMV employee: local lor..
Me: CD+DVD ah? Then cd only leh??
HMV employee: oh sorry sir we only carry local pressings now..
Me: o.O

PS: no wonder lah when I was at 313@somerset HMV last Saturday I only see BoA IDENTITY CD+DVD.. don't have cd-only jp press..

jiarongisme 27th April 2010 01:26 PM

The Singapore press is out? Wow.

Well, I'm not exactly surprised. With all the K-Pop boom, HMV would save the shipping fees from Japan and pay for the Korean CDs.

murasakinohana 27th April 2010 01:44 PM

Like, seriously lor, i suspected something amiss.. the album came out in Japan on April 14, and usually our local HMV will bring in the CD-Only jpn press first.. but i was at HMV on last saturday (24/04/2010).. don't tell me 10 days later and still no cd-only jpn copies at HMV!! :irked

KarenPang 27th April 2010 02:01 PM

I don't know what happened in HMV's management but the last time I went there (like what 3 weeks ago or so) , the most 'recent' Johnny's single they brought in from Japan was ARASHI's Troublemaker & that single was released last month !

they used to be really efficient in jpop but it seems that after they shifted to 313@Somerset , things more or less went downhill . They don't seem to bring in the latest jpop stock as fast/efficient as before

last time , major releases can be in their shop on the same day if not a day after it's released in Japan

damn sad man , I used to buy a huge bulk of my jpop stuff from HMV when they were at Heeren :(

you know what's the worst thing ? stuff that I enquired to them last Dec & this year in Jan/Feb , they only started calling me back recently this month & I already got those items online a long time ago :tired

majrakun 27th April 2010 02:13 PM

Oh no, really? :( What about live DVDs?

Sorry for going slightly off-topic, but HMV already moved? How do you get to 313@Somerset? I'm going to Singapore in a few days, and since I usually stay at Mandarin Hotel, Heeren is just nearby. XD But it's gonna suck if they don't bring in JP press anymore :/

KarenPang 27th April 2010 02:17 PM

LOL HMV moved to 313@Somerset last year during the Christmas period

it's very easy to get to there if you go by MRT

http://www.313somerset.com.sg/conten...?urlkey=ci_loc

ANYWAY , some updates on the album , HMV Somerset tweeted these 2 messages

- Rock'n'Roll Circus on shelves @ HMV now! Free poster w/ purchase, while stocks last!

- There is a 32-page photobook included into the album

OK for once I'm really surprised that the photobook's left intact after what happened to GUILTY's case

guess this time around Warner S'pore wasn't being an arsehole :innocent

AyuGAME 27th April 2010 02:36 PM

^POSTER!!! damn...i want it...
but i already buy HK version from YA...and there is no way to buy SG version though...so...its not my luck... T_T
so lucky you singaporeans

ya lor, at least that's good news.. i know i sound stupid and silly, being all defensive on the ''now non-existance of cd-only jpn presses'' issue (i don't even buy it as it's toooo expensive)but it's just..tsk!! :no

I also didn't see the CD only / Japan press of BoA's Identity album the last time I was there too

I remembered last year when NEXT LEVEL was released , they brought in the 1st press / CD only edition from Japan

kau , so expensive , it was going for $60 & almost hitting $70 or so :dead2

I know HMV Citylink still has 1 copy left at like what $80+ @_@ :tired

ya! it used to be, like S$82.00 (??) and it dropped to S$79.00 (??).. like as if that REALLY helps.. yeah, when i was at 313@Somerset last Saturday , A COMPLETE~ALL SINGLES~ priced at S$97.00!! my cousin was like saying to me '' eh eh Khai (me), mampos.. mahalnya cd ayumi!!..'' translation ''Wah Khai, die, ayumi cd so expensive..!'' :D

KarenPang 27th April 2010 02:58 PM

ya lor this's why I never believe in paying so much for a Japan press , it's ridiculously expensive & the Yen is forever not working in Sing $'s favour

sure , pure die hard people who insist everything must die die be Japan press in that they commented that the quality's there & all but is it really worth it where you can save 1/2 if not 2/3 of cost to get a OS press ?

at most just wait a few more days on this , nobody will die at the end of the day by waiting

I only get something that's Japan press if the artiste(s) I support doesn't happen to have OS presses of their material

prussian blue 28th April 2010 03:37 PM

*dancing happily* it comes with the photobookkk YAYYYYYYYYYY

murasakinohana 29th April 2010 03:19 AM

I'm rushing over to HMV this weekend!! :yes

KarenPang 29th April 2010 04:53 AM

LOL I better

I will be heading there later on xD . Will take pics & etc for proof on this

I'm curious to see if it's Warner S'pore that produces the album locally this time round or they import stock from Hong Kong

either way , will keep everyone posted on this :)

LacusClyne 29th April 2010 05:14 AM

errr....what no more japan press???

that sucks! althought their japan press is marked up, but it's convient for people who can't buy online, and i saw tourists buying japan press too, normally i see them buying a lot! at least 5 or more! once i even saw a Eurasian couple buying like 40+ japan versions!

waterballoon 29th April 2010 05:53 AM

it's cheap too! only SGD$22 for R'n'RC!

btw... about the Japan press.. yeah it's been slow recently; I don't think they brought in the Japan press for Tohoshinki's Toki wo Tomete single, but they had Japan press brought in for their BREAK OUT! single. maybe something cropped up in February or something that affected this...

PEARL 29th April 2010 10:01 AM

omg karenpang i will wait for your news~

KarenPang 29th April 2010 10:19 AM

like what Jun Xiang said , I didn't saw the Japan press of Tohoshinki's Toki wo Tomete single being sold here , be it whether in CDRama or HMV or whatever else

I guess it's more marketable/profitable to bring in CD + DVD's of stuff as it's more reasonable priced to me

ANYWAY ...

prices for S'pore press / CD + DVD of Rock'n'Roll Circus as follows :

Gramaphone - S$22.95

HMV - S$21.95 ; you get a free poster while stocks last if you buy it from HMV

it DOES come with the 32 page photobook so rejoice on that Seb xD

some pics I took when I was Cathay's Gramaphone

http://i44.tinypic.com/16m27g3.jpg

The PG sticker's unfortunately not stuck on the CD casing but rather inside on the pic >_<

but at least this time round , that promo sticker looks better/decent as compared to NEXT LEVEL which was terrible on every single level xD

http://i41.tinypic.com/25tuqgj.jpg

funny that the OBI didn't had Warner S'pore's logo but at the back , there's o_O

===

off topic but when I was at HMV Somerset earlier on , I did saw the CD only editions / Japan presses of Johnny's singles that they brought in but it's big rip off for KAT-TUN's Love yourself single man

S$26.95 as compared to NEWS's Sakura Girl & Hey ! Say ! JUMP's Hitomi no Screen which're both going for S$20.95

dammit :o

Meat Pao 29th April 2010 11:07 AM

Ooo the sticker definitely improved by a lot LOL though it would still have been better if they stuck with the original design instead though it's similar.

And yes Karen NL's sticker was just plain nasty LOL
