Whats going on in Jmusic?
 

Been out of jpop world so long what's new? I only kept up with Koda Kumi, Name Amuro, Vamps, Soulhead, and Minmi releases. As for all the other artists I used to love there dead to me lol. I been going through a lot and I must say I missed the forum. I found out VAMPS were doing a world tour and stopping in new york. I'm going to the concert tomorrow but I noticed the fact that I'm going to this concert made me realize how much I missed Music period. So let me know what's going on in the jpop/jrock world?

Who's hot and whos Still hot?
Who feel off or has a huge decline in sales?
Latest singles or albums?

So far Arashi is dominating the charts again.
Kana Nishino has become very popular

Both artists albums are 1 and 2 on the yearly charts.

Idol girl group AKB48 has become very popular and are also dominating singles charts.

Korean artists have starting debuting in Japan.

Everyone else's sales suck LOL nah just kidding...

ayumi hamasaki released 3 singles within 3 months and her 50th single broke seikos record for #1 singles.

AKB48: Super, kawaii pop (a carbon copy of Morning Masume)
Kana Nishino: She was pop in the beginning but has recently moved on to R&B.

They are far more sexual than Momusu...

Who still is hot?

Ayumi Hamasaki, Koda Kumi and Hikaru Utada still are in the game... Namie Amuro had a major coming back....

I'm aware of Namie & Koda but sales wise how are they?

They're still topping the charts...PAST<FICTION haad a huge streak and Kumi's coming off her high but they're still topical.

I meant musical wise, not image wise! :laugh I'm aware that image wise, they're sexier than Momusu! (^^);

I see you like Ami Suzuki, Ami became a DJ and released a DJ album titled "BLOOMING". This year she had DJ events in not only Japan but USA, Australia and Taiwan as well. Now she is planning to release a comeback single.

Utada is going on hiatus on November

Pretty much nothing. It has been a very boring three months. No good music!

I think I might go on a hiatus too.

I knew Arashi was popular but I had no idea they were that popular. Why do crap groups like them still sell so well?

I'm never sure what's going on with Jmusic; it's so difficult to keep up with. You hear about arashi and namie and koda kumi, but the rest is a mystery. I wish there were a reliable news source with more variety

Koda Kumi also passed 600k legal downloads for her song "Suki de" and is having her 10th anniversary show at the Tokyo Dome called Fantasia :)

Kana Nishino, as others have said, is doing really well, she's releasing a new single soon called Kimitte so you should try it out!

uhmm... that's really all I've cared about in jpop for the past few months, excluding Ayu's new releases and JYJ's.

Japan still loves gyarus
Arashi sold 1 million copies of their new album
Perfume is holding a Tokyo Dome Live
Koda Kumi is having her 10th anniversary, Tokyo Dome show, new cover album, single in december
AKB48/Arashi are still ruling the singles charts
JUJU is having really great sales with her new cover album
BoA is coming back soon
Tohoshinki disbanded, reformed as some other thing or another and Avex dropped them again

Summary: Sales are sucking really bad, cept those of AKB48/Arashi/very few other artists.

^ Tohoshinki hasn't technically "disbanded", they're on a hiatus now. Jaejoong, Junsu, and Yoochun (3 members from Tohoshinki) formed JYJ with avex, was dropped, and have released an English language album and are touring.
