[Translation] TEAMAyu blog: 27 October: Addressing Twitter

PLS READ NOTE: From now on, I'm going to respect ayu's wishes for special messages like this to remain TA only. Therefore, I'll only post this up here for 48 hours, after which I'll take the first message down. You can save it privately if you want, but the fact is that this will not remain in public view for longer than 48 hours (at least not from me). Naturally, I'd also like to ask that the first message not be reposted anywhere else, either in English or your own translation into something else. If you've missed the 48 hour period, PM me and I'll send you a private copy of the translation.

I know this will inconvenience some people and anger others, but please understand that ayu believes TA a private place for her, and I don't want to be the one to make her lose that trust by posting TA messages out on a public forum for everyone to read. Ideally, if I'm doing this, I should do it for every single TA message she's ever posted, but I won't go so far, the limit is set only for messages with a TA-only special request like this.

I hope everyone can understand the position I'm in and why I'm doing this. Thank you.

OK? Then read on...

thanks Misa.

I really dislike all this drama :(

Michan 27th October 2010 07:19 PM

^ me too =(

MissElin_ 27th October 2010 07:21 PM

I think it's good that we'll try to respect Ayu and her wishes!

Btw, she sounds too happy with the light hair colour imo. I was hoping for a dark brown change. XD And maaaan she looks young! Like a teenager! O.o

Mirrorcle Monster 27th October 2010 07:25 PM

Shes just the best, and so sad that we wont get more Ayu pics on twitter

Pieces_of_SEVEN 27th October 2010 07:26 PM

It just upsets me. I'd join TA in a heartbeat if I could.

waterballoon 27th October 2010 07:31 PM

okay I'm just gonna be honest and say it here outright, sorry if it offends anyone:

her message sounds so contrived and diplomatic... if she only shows her real self on TA then what is she on Twitter? Her fake self? I'm sorry but I know it's hard for Ayu too but I'm sick of how she always "brings down" the people on Twitter just to boost the TA members' egos.

I'm very sorry for saying that, and I'm sorry if ur a TA member, but face it, that's the truth. I bet Ayu isn't even happy typing all that and it's ugh breaking my heart so much and pissing me off so much too...

but thank you misa-chan for translating this, it must have been tough on u too~

emi♡ 27th October 2010 07:31 PM

In sort of a predicament here...

But I understand your feelings Misa-chan, and I wouldn't want you to feel like you are going against Ayu's wishes in any way, and I hope that everyone else here respects your decision as well. Thank you for all you have done for us.

This whole mess is gross. But there's always, transition periods yeah? Perhaps we are at the start of something very great.

I agree COMPLETELY.

Thanks Misa! And I don't mind your decision, you have the right to do what you want with your translation and people should respect that.

MissElin_ 27th October 2010 07:51 PM

Well, you can understand why she feels more like herself in TA then Twitter just because of one main reason.

You can't write long messages in Twitter. Twitter will always be on the surface and light. It's not fake, just... short.

In TA Ayu have written long messages. I still remeber the long long long ones she wrote about her friend who died, about the release of CDL 07-08 DVD that was just heartbreaking, the one about A WORLD IS ONE book and her loosing her hearing (imagine those messages in just a tweet). I mean, those feelings can't never ever be summarized in such a short message that Twitter is.

And therefore it's pretty natural that she feels more like herself in TA then Twitter. It is and always will be stronger.

I have to ask but how has Ayu ever "brought down" the people on twitter?

It's great, that Ayu finally spoke up about all this drama.
And she is so sweet...she reli thinks about ALL her fans, no matter if they're Japanese or not!

And Misa-chan...I completely understand you!
Thank you for the translation, once again!

@waterballoon: I don't think, that Ayu shows us her "fake self" on twitter. What she means - I think - is that in her "TA Diary" she can reli express her feelings and opinions more vividly, because she can type as much as she likes (and when she talks about her feelings, her entries are always quite long).
twitter is only for short messages; news she wants to tell her fans, but not reli for talking about her emotinal life.

Of course she hasn't outright said, "Oh I think the fans who follow me on Twitter are less awesome than u guys!" or anything like that, but it's what she says to TA, "I only show my real self to you guys...", I mean maybe it's a miscommunication or something but doesn't it also mean that she shows her "fake" self to Twitter/other places?

I understand how she can be more "herself" in TA though; writing longer messages and being able to post more everyday photos of herself and all that, but again Twitter is more convenient too I guess?

But Ayu has said it right, there ARE fans out there who'd love to join TA but can't for their own reasons but who support her with the same heart as the TA peeps. I personally can't afford the TA membership at all and I don't have any credit/debit cards so I can't apply for a membership too, but I love Ayu and support her just as much as the TA peeps/anyone else, and I'm glad she's acknowledging our existence :)

Angel_Hikaru 27th October 2010 08:11 PM

I havent read all the "drama" around twitter too...but even tough I kind of feel like waterballon, I also wouldn't read too much in to it....I mean, TA is something that gives Avex and Ayu revenues, while twitter doesn't, so in other words you could say that Avex pushes Ayu to give more importance to TA than to Twitter.

Moreover, Ayu is a person, I don't think she has a switch to turn her true self on and off, so I think she's only saying what some of her "unmatured" "egoist" fans want to hear.

aura~ 27th October 2010 08:12 PM

Thanks Misa-chan, I completly understand you, and thank you so much for keep on translating.

I love what Ayu said. And we should apreciate it. She knows she has foreign fans and that most of them can't join TA. And she know all of them would want to join TA. I've explaines in some TA messages I sent, that lots of foreign fans would love to join TA and that even if there's a way, it's still TOO expensive and difficult for most of us. And you can see here that she knows that. And she knows we all have the same love for her!

Forgeting the differences between those who pay, and those who don't, love is not shown with money, and she knows that.

I'm so happy because of that.

But then, is what MissElin said.. it's not like there're 2 Ayu's, it's just that if we hadn't people who translate her TA messages, we would see hust a little part of how she is.. her short, cute and fun tweets... no more. and in TA we have been able to see the deepest part of her life, her true deep feelings. And that can only be found on TA.

I like this message because she is defending her opinion and asking TA to understand why she did it.

Raleigh 27th October 2010 08:15 PM

I guess I missed all the drama... I'll deffo have to look it up. However I guess it makes sense that she'd write more personally on TA where her hardcore fans are rather than Twitter... thanks for the translation Misa :)

Okay. I get what you mean now. Twitter is more convenient but it has it's downside since you can only use up to 140 characters I believe so she can only say so much. It is very nice to see Ayu point out that those who aren't part of TA love her just as much.

Angel_Hikaru 27th October 2010 08:18 PM

I wonder...how much does it cost to join TA?

ownsarai 27th October 2010 08:18 PM

It's sad that all of the drama has resulted in this.
Oh well. I respect your position on this Misa-chan, and of course I also respect Ayu's decision. I just wish she and avex would open an International TA already. I would love to join. But anyhow, I am glad that Ayu understands that TA is not the only ones who support her completely. I also wish you could write longer tweets in twitter, maybe Ayu would feel a little more like herself there.
Anyhow, thanks for the translations.
