so, I'm so obsessed with these today.

Have you guys seen them? Does anyone have one?

They're awesome! lol

It's basically a synthetic instrument that was created in Japan. THEYRE SO CUTE! To play it, you press your fingers against different parts of the tail, and you open it's mouth.

LOL soon they will be integrating the otamatone into the junior high orchestra, where they will sit between the violins and the clarinets. :laugh Leave it to the Japanese to make something cutesy and then try to make it into a serious thing. Head with flag on it=real instrument. XD

Also, that Greensleeves rendition made me grind my teeth. It was ear shattering. XD

I don't get why when you press higher on it's tail it makes a lower sound. I would get confused...

Because that's how a stringed instruments work. the higher up, the longer the string, the deeper the sound. The further down, the shorter the string, the higher the sound.

It's imitating that concept.
