Little bit love for Sunrise/Sunset bunch?lol

Lol all I see is hate for those covers (and probbaly for songs). And I keep questioning what is SOOO bad that i don't see. The covers for sure aren't the greatest, but from my point of view I think the composition is nice, the colors are very sumerish, I also totally like the font,probably the only time I think it fits perfectly, it's kinda elegantic but with the little fun in it, I think Ayu is looking quite ok, I mean i've seen worse of her, and her face even if looking a little weird, is better looking than with the huge fish lips. And sure they got a bit off with her style (lol) overall, but it's not THAT bad for me really.I mean (miss)understood covers for me was a dissaster, when I saw them, i wasn't sure what am I looking at xD
I also totally enjoy both of the songs, tho Sunrise more. And I thought the videos were kinda nice.

Is my taste weird? Or maybe I'm blind? :D

EDIT: ok I wanted to keep this thread on a possitive side, for those who like it, cuz there's just TOO much hate for the release, but oh well lol

songs are flawless, please dont even go there lol, and I love the videos, I was so happy with this release, even cover is shakira much I could live with it.

The thing is they could be so much better and beautiful since her styling was beautiful and place she went was extraordinary beautiful...

same like you , I'm 1 of the few that actually enjoys Sunrise/Sunset a great deal , inclusive of the PVs that have 2 awesome/great looks ayumi portrayed .

It's only the covers that are really awful but I suppose nothing beats the CD only cover of (miss)understood haha

But as long as the music's still good , it's good enough for me . No point to have the best covers in the world but if the music's lousy/terrible , then that defeats the whole purpose of everything

^^the look Ayu has reminds me of the calendar of last year, they probably shot the covers at the same time, and from what I saw lots of the pics could have made into beautiful CD covers, perfectly fitting. So yeah they could have definitelly made it much better, but it's nowhere near a dissaster either.:yes

KarenPang. true about the music, but I always thought that the amount of quality you put into music should be kept till the very end of the finished product reaches the shelves. If you have a good single you gotta make the details (covers, promotion, videos) meet the music too. At least that's what I usually expect from artists (maybe because i'm myself like that lol) plus sometimes just seeing the cover in the shop might want you to buy the CD and listen to it.

the CD+DVD Cover seems OK, but not the CD Only cover, it looks like she was forced to make a photoshoot and she wasn't even prepared, like she was in a middle of talking to someone and the photographer snapped a pic of it.

the only problem i found that, BALI is extremely beautiful place with great scenery, i mean why didn't they explore more to find a perfect background rather than chose the view from hotel? did they scare fans will come to find her? i doubt so.
i'd rather them to take a beach scenery, even though it's very common concept for a summer single, but still, it should look much better than this. or the calender pic is better than this.

her outfit is extremely OK. i love it. just the scenery and the photoshop look so OFF.
as for the songs, I LOVE THEM ALL.
and yes i have to agree that (miss)understood covers are LOL haha..

but in the end, i won't really mind bout covers being ugly or what.. the songs are the most important thing haha~

The song sounds nice but seems Ayu didn't sing it cheerfully.. Her vocal is quite different from previous summer songs (July 1st, Greatful days...)
But I enjoy the songs..

the cover is not bad...it's ok...
but people has a really high hope on her...they demand perfectness from her...
and she shoot it in Bali but it's end up just ok cover...so a lot of people really don't understand for what she fly far away to Indonesia, just to shot that kind of pics

I love the song "Sunrise ~LOVE is ALL~" ("Sunset" was just sort of "meh" but I'm difficult to please when it comes to ballads). The arrangement was really sweet and summery--it's one of the few songs where I listen to the instrumental almost as much as the actual song. It also has one of the best shout-along choruses for concerts; I don't know why she doesn't perform it more.

...but I just can't with the covers. Although I hate her fish-lips, I think I'd take them over the kind of dopey look she has here. It's just creepy seeing someone who is usually so powerful and confident look that dead in the eyes. Aside from that, I think my main problem with the covers is that, while it was supposedly shot ~on location, everything looks like it was cobbled together in Photoshop--all of the elements look like they're from separate photographs; there's no interaction between her, the flowers, or the water; the flowers are blurred in such an unnatural way that it almost looks like the artist was making up for it being a different resolution than anything else on the cover. It makes me think of a PS draft made to sell the client on the composition, not the final product of a AAA pop star.

...but, yeah, "Sunrise" is a great summer song.

And about the songs, Sunrise gave me that ayufan feeling the first time I listened to it! Sunset made me cry, because when it came out I was going through a very tough time, and that song made me feel much better :)

The one thing I don't like about covers is her stupid face expression. You know, it's like you're looking not at alive person, but at a doll. This gets me everytime! And her outfit makes me think about silly light-minded woman.. perhaps because ayu doesn't bare her skin frequently ~.~ and this look just kills me every time I see it.

I actually like these songs, especially Sunset, it sounds so Japanese :D

I love the songs and the covers never bothered me till people started pointing out all the "badness" in them...

Lol, I quickly got over that, but now in the back of my mind I keep telling myself that they just look cheap. It almost looks like someone to a picture of a background (not even a real place) and then superimposed Ayumi on top (did I use the terminology right?? no photoshop experience!)

So I love the songs, the covers look okay for something a 12 year might of done... Its one of those where you'll say: That's good... practice makes perfect!

The covers are just a graphic mess. The bad photoshop, the fragments and cloning mistakes everywhere... it's just a mess.

Anyone knows that cursive font looks terrible in caps, yet it's done here. :/ The photo of Ayu itself isn't bad, it's just the entire presentation and post processing that's ruined perfectly good photos. :/

I never hated those covers. It looks simply and summerish. I really love the font and Ayu`s face :)
And songs are perfect! :heart

Imo they aren't that bad, people are just always exaggerating. And no, nothing's wrong with your eyes. If something's pretty to at least one person in the world, then it's pretty.
