Yupp! It's been confirmed by Oricon. The weekly numbers will be out tomorrow. :)

TeamAyu2004 30th October 2012 01:39 AM

interesting, good for her.
although those numbers are so low, it was such a bad week for music...

55k is a pretty good for her. And this wasn't a bad week for music at all. All of the Top 3 sold about 50k+ which is good.

Kingdom 30th October 2012 01:45 AM

Queen of JPOP still tbh even if the single is a snooze fest.

TeamAyu2004 30th October 2012 01:53 AM

I guess its relative.
I find it a pretty bad week, especially when some artist command 100k + for their opening weeks.
Although for kuu it's pretty stander. of late she hasn't been a huge seller.

No non AKB48 solo female has been selling a lot of singles. Kuu can still sell 150k+ with her albums while many other certain female solo artists have struggled to reach that mark. I'm so proud of Kuu and Namie that they can still get #1 albums and singles in this day and age. <3

happiholic★ 30th October 2012 02:01 AM

#1 is #1. I'm taking the accomplishment for what it is. Plenty of other singers have built records on being simply the highest seller in the week, despite low numbers. Kuu can do it once, too.

ilovekodaa 30th October 2012 03:11 AM

congrats for Queen Kuu <3

Delicious n Bold 30th October 2012 04:09 AM

Congrats kumi kuu
Not a fan of the single tbh but still, congrats!

no female non-AKB related soloist has gotten a 100k first week for single sales in some time tho, need to update those standards tbh
the best this year so far is Nana Mizuki with 75k

TeamAyu2004 30th October 2012 04:56 AM

^ you are missing the point of my post.
It has nothing to do with who got what.

I consider it a bad week in sales, nothing (for singles) broke 100K... if the final sales are right, with Kuu at 55K nothing even broke 60K... thats a bad week when you have other artist who can do more in sales. you said it yourself with Nana Mizuki. Namie's Sit Stay... did 77K and ayumi's last single L did 70K just to name two other female artist.

it is not a reflection on Kuu, its a reflection on the week

Ayu's last single was in 2010. Times have changed since and then and Ayu's album sales have been cut in half since then. Whose to say if Ayu released a single now she would do the same numbers? I really doubt she would and even if she did her numbers were nothing special either and were released in even deader weeks than this one. I agree with Nana and Namie but Ayu is not this huge seller either yet if she got #1 with the same numbers I'm not so sure you'd be saying the same thing.

It's funny to me when Kuu actually does get a #1 it's "oh it was a dead week" and when she gets #6 or whatever she's "flopping." Some people just never stop sigh.....

emi♡ 30th October 2012 06:09 AM

If the top is 75k....and this week did 60k...it's not really that bad, even relatively speaking lol

now if it was like 30k, sure.

But 60k? For singles? Guess people just differ on what is bad and what isn't.

I think this was just a busier week. SOME artists tend to release on relatively dead weeks. Sales are distributed differently then among the top 5 than here.

Think it's pretty amazing if true, what someone up there said about the top 3 all selling 50k.

like i said before, it has nothing to do with it being kuu. You are pulling at stray hairs. Its a dead week because the highest seller only did 55K... It could of been ayumi and I would be saying the same thing.
It could of been AKB and I would still say ITS A DEAD WEEK.

as for the bolded part, since ayumi did 70K it cant be deader then 55k, now can it... she sold 15K more copies. But just droping Ayumi and talking with Nana who did 75K, 20K more then Kuu is a little bit better...
I still wouldn't consider that a hot week though... its better, but not excellent.

100K for me is excellent and not many solo's get that anymore.

Twinkle ! 30th October 2012 02:49 PM

^ for gods sake , some get #1 with horrible sales like 15k ! , that's what you called a bad week.

Sales in 2010 is way higher than sales now . Kuu used to sell almost 400k with UNIVERSE , same as Ayu who sold more than 300k with RnRC .

Their sales are declining like 100% . So its pretty amazing for kuu the solo female artist in 2012 with 1-A side single to top a chart with 60k .
