Applause had very nice ideas, but they didn't worked enough on any of them imo. It was too much of a mess for me, while I appreciate Roar semplicity, particularly because it matches the neatness of the song too.

Roar. It was cute and funny. Plus, I'm over Lady Gaga and her artsy crap. These days people are just trying to out-weird and out-sexualize each other. While I think Katy is normally in that category, I think she just did the fun thing this time around.

Both songs are quite good. Roar definitely has the better video though. It's cute and entertaining. The video for Applause is horrible.

You just said pretty much everything I wanted to say, hahah. :P

I like Roar a lot more, the MV is entertaining and the storyline is simple and funny. I've always liked Katy's MVs. Applause's MV is artistic and looks cool but it didn't really appeal for me and I didn't understand it.

I do have to admit that I love how Gaga's still doing her own thing, Katy does seem basic compared to her. It's just that Gaga's not really my cup of tea, she's way too much for me to handle.
