Ayu's favourite singers?
 

So, when I was getting into Ayu many years ago, I read that her favourite singers were Babyface, Keiko from Globe, etc. I'm wondering if that is still accurate? Are there any new interviews where she talks about what she listens to?

I'm sure she's mentioned the Smashing Pumpkins once long ago as well....also B'z I think???

I'd actually really like to know who she loves these days... :)

On Music Station years ago, if I recall correctly, Ayu mentioned that she had purchased Arashi's latest album.

Interesting question, I'm curious too. She always says she doesn't listen to her own songs.
She talked about some singers she used to listen to in the past, but I really wonder what she's into lately.

In the lifestyle book..there's two different photos that show two different portraits of Jimmy Hendrix in her house. On an episode of Ayuready? she said John Lennon's Imagine is one of her favourite songs.

I do remember she lost her mind over Tohoshinki at a-nation, haha :D

"Imagine" is pretty much one of EVERYONE'S favorite songs if they're really into music.

I remember the DOME TOUR 2001 History Book had one photo with a stack of mini-LP style CDs... The Rolling Stones' "Sticky Fingers" and RHCP's "BloodSugarSexMagik" among them. Dunno if they were hers, her band members', or what, but that photo WAS given a whole page, so that's probably just what everyone was listening to during DT2001 rehearsals.

In a Popteen interview she once mentioned liking P!NK's then-current album, and in I think the TIME Magazine interview she talked about buying Joan Osborne's "Relish" album because she liked "One of Us" when she heard it in the Vanilla Sky trailer.

Whenever she does a song in that style, she probably says to the arranger "give me something like Joan Osbourne's "One of Us" lol

I remember a magazine interview a while back where she mentioned listening to Sting and No Doubt. I think Michelle Branch as well?

MJ, I'm sure. There was a ViVi diary where she went to see "This Is It" in theaters. I think she played his music before a few of her shows recently as well.
