MC: Share with us an unforgettable experience.
A: Ayumi Hamasaki
MC: A someone that everyone admires, for about 10 years, all asian girls want to be like her! Especially her body, looks and nails! A lot of my friends followed her trend from top to toe. So how's your experience working with her?
A: I did homework about 2 month. It is a cold call job and through a friend, I manage pass the message saying that I want to take a cover for her. When i send my portfolio to ayu, ayu said lets do it!
MC: That easy?
A: Yes really.
MC: Your portfolio must have created an impression to her!
A: Thats why i have prepared for so long. For the first photoshoot, I've designed 8 different concept from one look to another without stopping - continuous shooting.
MC: It must be a long photoshoot.
A: Nop, it is very fast, as i have printed out all the concept from changing to hairdo and nails! When she entered, there were about 20 people in the studio.
MC: Guess there were already 6-7 people following her and you must have many helpers doing different task there.
A: Very excited even before she arrive! Received a call saying that shes coming shes arriving. And when she first met me she put out her hand saying 'Hi I'm Ayumi' and i replied 'Hi I'm Alvin Goh'. We shook hands and started the photoshoot immediately, professionally.
MC: Because you always shoot for international stars, you must have invested a lot of resources?
A: Indeed and i don't charge cheap.
MC: Understand - because you need to film, require the particular crew member and you want the type of result.
A: First i would want a very good photographer as I felt that even if you have a very good makeup artiste or hairstylist, if your photographer is lousy, that's it. everything will drop by 50% and it is a waste of time.
MC: So in your experience which artiste/star gives you the most millage? (As in alvin 'invested' little and in return gained a lot (can be $$ or experience)
A: I think it's still Ayumi, because after the first concept, the first 8 concept took about 8 hours (inc the time for changing and makeup).
MC: Wow usually people takes about 2 hours for 1 shot!
A: Initially ayu is a little cold/cool. after the 2nd look she started joking and talked to me like a friend. The next day, ayu added alvin on Facebook. As her profile pic does not show her face, i really wondered if its really ayu. And now, we are like friends. I will be helping with her coming concert.
MC: So what are you up to next?
A: Let you be in suspense! It will be very different from her previous, as I look at ayu from a different angle. Maybe people will think of her as a kawaii princess but to me, I can make her very style,fashion and international.
