Ayu Doubles!

This thread I made, is mostly for COMPARITIONS, not to debate if this is right or wrong (which can last forever, some really likes when songs SOUNDS like Title ~II~) It can be groups of similar songs for some reason you can put in the same box. Or you mistake them or anything that makes them "similar".

what comparition will u make? what do you think?

here's mine:

1. (obviously) snowy kiss - The Show Must Go On. Plus I would add Last angel, the comparition can be "genre" similar, not just melody.

2. Mirrorcle World - Tell All - sending mail
Free & Easy was kinda precursor of "that" songs I think.

3. WARNING - 1 LOVE (1 LOVE is the similariest of the rock song for WARNING, i think) I can imagine she sing "just one love" at the end of WARNING chorus lol

4. kiss o'kill - Return Road - they are not obviously "same sounding" songs, but definitely this "epic type" ones.

5. Song 4 u - progress

6. What is forever love - ANother song (not really the melody/sounding, but let's face it. It's Urata, it's soft rnb, soft vocals and dancy beat)

7. NO FUTURE - Like a doll (very similar beat, but NO FUTURE includes emotional parts a'la LOVEppears)

8. Pray - the GIFT - untitled ~for her~ - meaning of Love - beloved - untitled story 2 - SAKURA - Together when...
If someone would put them together, I'll propably would not guess the titles properly.

9. (miss)understood - It was - I love both of them but if someone would surprise me of mixing them together, I would have problem to put the titles XD

10. BLUE BIRD - glitter - i mostly recognize them because of lyrics (yes, still believe in love XD) you can also add Sunrise and fairyland but for me they are kinda unique in their own way. (mostly because I really like them lol)

11. Secret - Sotsugyou Shashin

12. Walk - You were... (you can include also No Way to Say as reference lol)

13. Last minute - Memorial address (+ reminds me is still kinda same song, but more fast)

14. Tell me why - Don't look back (which Dlb have non-catchy, sleepy melody :P)

15. Ladies Night - until that Day

16. Bye bye darlin' - NOW&4EVA

17. You&Me - Feel the love

18. MY ALL - Life - Red Line

19. the next LOVE - Pride (?)

20. Dolls - Over (i always mistake them)

21. Naturally - evolution - UNITE!

22. HONEY - Replace - Beautiful day - Beautiful Fighters - ANGEL'S SONG

23. count down - GUILTY - criminal(?)

24. INSPIRE - My name's WOMEN

and maybe more....
and what about SO unique Ayu songs you can't compare with anything? Besides Colours... I would say that these special gems are:

Sexy little things
Sparkle
identity
(it's just not so obviously rock.. not electro... it's.. unique.)
rainy day
whole freaking Duty album (lol)
Gloria
NEVER EVER
ourselves
Real me
RAINBOW
GREEN
BRILLANTE
do it again
STEP you
alterna
Born To Be... (this one is pretty damn unique, isn't it?)
LOVE 'n' HATE
rollin' (and she should have grammy for it)
BALLAD
Humming 7/4

discuss :D

Ohhh wow. I really wanted to make a similar thread sometime becausr of the latest ballads discussions but its nice that someone else also thought.
Hmmm..let s see

Dolls is like the prequel of sweet scar (both with unique arrangements and unexpected choices of instruments and mixing) - gotta love these masterpiecees

Sakura - Pray (the first is my fave)

Vogue - Don t look back (both sound oriental and both have the motif of time)

End of the World - still alone (apocalyptical sound and theme)

Because of you - decision

Marionette - petal

Last links - call - letter - out of control

I ll return later with other similarities

See.... A lot of the comparations you made on your thread is the reason why I have a hard time taking most AHS members seriously x.x

There's no need to be an ass.

Anyway, the word both of you are looking for is "comparisons."

OP, #8 made me laugh lol. I don't usually lump Together When... in with the others from that group, but I guess it does have that generic sort of arrangement. The mood is totally different though.

NOW&4EVA is more similar to GAME than Bye-bye darling I think. The melodies are totally different, but they both have a rock feel to them despite the arrangements and production being sooo 2001-2002 pop lol. Bye-bye darling actually would fit in better with the upbeat tracks from ASFXX like SIGNAL imo. But they're definitely not "doubles" since again they're just really different lol. I feel like there's a song that actually sounds really similar to NOW&4EVA but I can't think of it off the top of my head.

HOPE or PAIN and Letter are usually another pair that people cite a lot.

the next LOVE and Pride are nothing remotely alike.

Well, as obscure as this might seem, I actually think the opening to Progress sounds a ton like Prologue from A Song For XX.

And I'm sure I'm not the only one to think Walk sounds similar to Ivy. And I think Zutto... and Carols have a similar sound to them... In terms of progression and the higher pitched vocals in the chorus. :D

Last but not least, I think Missing actually sounds like something from A Song for XX or around that era. Mostly the verses. I also can hear the slightest similarity to Free & Easy, but more aggressive (?)...
