Most contrasting Ayu songs in terms of music and lyrics?
Can we make a list/discussion?
I think Too Late..the lyrics are full of impending doom and warning yet the music and energy of the song is upbeat and almost childish. |
vogue comes to my mind

Fairyland
A true reverse warholian experience tbh |
Trauma and most of her earlier songs tbh.

HONEY is a good one too. I thought it was some "Kawaii senpai~~~" bs cause of the music but then I read the lyrics and it's about breaking up lol |
Party Queen for me, an ironic anthem of drink alcohol to forget about the mess in your life ,with lyrics such as " The world is spinning round and round, who are you again? I don’t even know who I am anymore"
|
Eyes, Smoke, Magic
Tbh. One of the things I love about it |

I love it when she insinuates to leave one's personal life at home or it's over. :D "Tomorrow’s hangover and retrospection, just forget them now “If that’s too difficult for you, I won’t drink with you again” |
Sexy Little Things... The overly kawaii music with the agressive girl-power lyrics, giving the "kawaii"-ness a mockery feeling.
|
Yeah, Party Queen and vogue spring to mind.

^To the point that she called Nagase "my honey" on the booklet credits back them! xD

EDIT: oh I said it was about breaking up because I always remembered the first stanza of lyrics were kind of depressing but didn't realize the entire song was a little more happy. So I'm wrong lol. Thanks for the correction! |
Nah I think HONEY definitely fits the music. I love the lyrics!
Maybe You & Me. or ourselves. I think those sound a bit upbeat/happy but the lyrics convey a different message. |
ourselves easily

Eyes, Smoke, Magic has always struck me the most in terms of contrasting lyrics and song.
