ayu's face in 2015

I noticed seeing photos and videos of ayu in the PV's of sixxxxxx for example, in the arena tour 2015 and the a-nation 2015 too, that her face isn't the same face of her, :shakehead maybe starting the transformation the last year.

And my question is why? Maybe too much botox? I don't know :no

murasakinohana 14th September 2015 04:25 AM

Sorry, I don't know how to insert photos. But there's one recent photo of her, posing with Urata Naoya backstage at a-nation 2015. She kinda look like Dara 2NE1 in that angle. I was like, "the fuck is Dara 2NE1 doing at a-nation?? Oh wait....this is Ayumi!" Took me a hot minute to realize that I'm looking at Ayu! :shakehead

j0tas 14th September 2015 11:37 AM

Really? She looks younger, prettier and more natural to me than in recent years!! She looked more plastic in crossroad era with those collagen swollen lips...

orbitalaspect 14th September 2015 12:24 PM

Has a point though. In your sig, Ayu looks more Korean. Rounder face, softer features. Quite different from PQ, Ls, RnRC. It's either Photoshop, makeup, or work. I wouldn't be surprised if she's had some work done. It's not uncommon. Seiko Matsuda is probably a quilt. But I hope Ayu goes back to some of the more dramatic looks she's had. She has been really understated since PQ, and doesn't have that visual pop she had in videos like Why..., progress, and Sexy little things.

Gustavopc 14th September 2015 01:41 PM

If anything, I would say she has put some weight on since last year, but that would be it. Camera angles and focal lengths can change one's look a bit, not to mention lightning and make-up (and photoshop), maybe that's why she "looks Korean"

paper_doll 14th September 2015 03:26 PM

Sometimes I think she looks generally like herself, but a lot of times something seems off to me. I stepped away from the fandom for a couple years and when I slowly started getting back into it, pictures like these blew my mind. It doesn't even look like her. If she had work done in the past, it was much more subtle I think. Idk.

Zeke. 15th September 2015 02:00 AM

She has definitely gotten work done on her face. It's very "tight" looking when showing emotion or expression. Especially her mouth, very artificial looking.

pimenta 15th September 2015 02:36 AM

Funny, I think she looks more like she's always had now than she did around 2011-2012...

Zeke. 15th September 2015 03:41 AM

I mean, look at her here:
http://i.imgur.com/pSZv0yyl.jpg
She looks like she put on 20+ years, and her face very unnatural looking. Like it has been manipulated too much.
Would never guess this is the same beauty who did shots like this:

Or the beautiful CD ONLY version.

In the past, you were always able to see Ayu's youthful soul through her expressions.
Now, I feel that youthful soul does not reach us.

MessiahofSilence 15th September 2015 04:44 AM

^ Or maybe because the pictures are 8 years apart? Haha, I'm sure she's had work done but she also has aged. She looks good and like herself if you ask me

I'd really avoid comparing official, photoshopped photos to screencaps from shows/rl photographs.

I think it's pretty much a given that Ayu has had work done. Most if not all celebrities do - it's more rampant in Korea but given the K-wave, well... if not before, then definitely in the last few years.
As for my opinion, it's her face. Let her do what she wants to it. Just try not to over-do it, Ayu :tipsy

Matt_rq 15th September 2015 07:42 AM

She looks younger this year, her face shows happiness and her soul quite well, she was very artificial in PQ era with that pink wig and fish lips; now I feel like she had like 23 years old. Of course she had plastic surgery like many other females in Japan; is not a crime.

Miduhyo 15th September 2015 11:08 AM

I have to say I'm with those people that think she looks better. Of course she's had plastic surgery or maybe even botox but, to be honest, this is the happiest I've seen her in a long time. It makes her look great inside and out. I think looking-wise, this may be one of my favorite, if not my favorite year of hers. I love her hairstyle. I love how fit she looks. I love how content she seems. Sure, she looks different, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Isn't Ayu a smoker? Or was? (I could be wrong.) but that causes a lot of wrinkles at an early age and if she still smokes (or did) then she probably gets botox/maybe some work done to make sure she stays looking youthful/mature. She may not be the most popular artist anymore but she still is a celebrity and by God, if you dare to look like you're not in your twenties anymore then you'll be targeted hard by the media/internet.

Corvina 15th September 2015 11:53 AM

Now I can admit my surprise at so much people saying she looks younger. The new hairstyle fits her really well and especially that dark hair looks gold on her. But I definitely think she looks her age. Which isn't a bad thing tbh. I agree that she looks happier and fitter and this just shows in her appearance. But I don't think she looks younger this year.

Miduhyo 15th September 2015 12:53 PM

I don't think she looks younger either, but I do think she looks better. Like whatever she's doing, it's working. xD I'm not sure how else to explain it.

Chibi-Chan 15th September 2015 02:01 PM

I have no idea if Ayu had surgery or not. But am I the only one who is against plastic surgery, the whole obsession with youth and wishes for people (especially women) to look their age and that they don't have to get something done just so that nobody would call them granny when they don't look like 20 anymore?

primavera♥ 15th September 2015 03:42 PM

Ayu looks a lot better and healthier to me than she did especially between 2002-2005

She would look like she was prematurely aging or something sometimes back then. But I guess she has spoken about body image issues in a more recent interview and how she wasn't eatong and what not. So I'm sure a poor diet also affected the way she looked.

She just has looked so great for the past couple of years. And there are times when she takes photos that eventually go on twitter where I think they're old pictures from the past, which is nice.

If she got work done, I don't know. I just think ayu's gotten botox and is a makeup queen.

I'm with you on this. I personally think plastic surgery should be limited for people who actually needs it as a treatment for injuries on their face and body. If that happened, this obsession of youth wouldn't be so sickening.

As for Ayu, I don't think she has had any sort of surgeries or botox. I think it's just makeup, healthier eating habits and other healthy stuff that she's doing that makes her look so good these days. :)

JackieRos 18th September 2015 07:23 PM

^Sometimes is not for being youthful, kids don't have plump lips and they don't all have
big eyes.

If you're not happy with how you look or if you just want to change your appearance then
why the heck not? As long as it doesn't affect your health or whatever then why not?

BlackSilence 18th September 2015 08:45 PM

i have no idea what you people are talking about, LOOK AT HER lol
https://scontent-ams2-1.xx.fbcdn.net...83&oe=565E8237

To me she looks better than ever, youthful, healthy and glowing! Her age is showing but she's really ageing gracefully. I seriously don't know what you people are talking about lol I don't think she ever looked that good.

let me just note one thing
apparently korean beauty trends are actually coming into japan. Did dyou notice how she no longer has heavy make-up on? Like in the a-nation her skin was all glowy. Apparently the matt face is out of fashion these days in Japan, and girls go for a more dewy skin, the healthy glow. And i think make-up is really very responsible for her look these days.
