[Ariana Grande] Dangerous Woman ༼♥ل͜♥༽ the 1st thread

Anyone listening to her here? :) I think these singles are pretty good.

Ariana Grande is one of the best American artists imo.

I like her two latest albums very much, especially the singles.

NintendoHTF1242 2nd September 2016 12:52 PM

I wasn't a huge fan of her Yours Truly era because the music she made was really boring to me (excluding The Way and Almost Is Never Enough).

The My Everything era was AMAZING though! Problem and Break Free were my bops! Just amazing in every aspect.

Focus was a truly awful song and I'm glad she scrapped that song for the Dangerous Woman era. The song that captivated me was Into You and Be Alright. So for me personally, I like her third album the most! Into You is in the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 currently, hope it can sneak into the top 10 soon.

^ ooooh, I really enjoyed Focus. Reminded me somehow of Problem. Loved that song when it came out.

Ariana is an amazing singer, one powerhouse I actually like to listen to. Don't mind her target is teen girls, I would aim to look like her too when I was 15. Even though I don't have the patience to listen through entire collections of hers (only con side I feel for her albums is that the songs sound too much like each other) I really love the jams they constantly play on the radio. Side to Side and Into You are great!

Thanks for opening this thread. I was kinda surprised she did not have her own thread already.

I have such mixed feelings on Ariana Grande.
She is a powerhouse vocalist but I feel that she wastes her talent on shallow teen pop/edm songs. I also think that like a lot of other female American singers, she over sexualizes herself. Every performance and video is sexual, constantly pushing her as a sexy girl. I would like to see more perspectives than just sexy.
So much potential for her. She could be doing so much more.:yes

I like her. I've been listening to Into You and Touch It, these are my favorites from her latest album.

I love her and her music :heart and particularly dig her so much when My Everything was released because yes, as Nintendo said it's much much better than Yours Truly lol

A few of my favorite tracks from Dangerous Woman are Into You, Greedy, Touch It and Thinking Bout You.

NintendoHTF1242 19th April 2018 09:25 PM

I’m BALD and SHOOK!!! I’ve been awaiting her return!

Sky High 20th April 2018 02:22 AM

Not into her music, but I do really like her voice.

hud 20th April 2018 05:10 AM

it's out sisters!!! I love it!!

ayumi_croatia 20th April 2018 02:58 PM

The song is okay but the video is awful.

NintendoHTF1242 20th April 2018 03:38 PM

Never mind I’m not bald anymore. Song didn’t do anything for me. Then again, I didn’t like Dangerous Woman as a lead single but Into You is what captured me so I’ll wait for the second single.

hud 20th April 2018 03:49 PM

I really love it. idk if I was just STOKED for her comeback but I really do like it.

the video is okay, I liked the easter egg with the album tracklist, but the masks scene is horrible lmao

Just had to share that I've never, like ever liked Ariana... until "No Tears Left to Cry." Jesus, talk about striking an icon status. The video, her vocals, the production, the cover... it's perfect.

NintendoHTF1242 24th August 2018 09:48 AM

The album is out, what y’all think?

“no tears left to cry” grew onto me a lot, and the vibes in “God is a woman” is so intoxicating. Unfortunately, the Pharrell tracks are ruined by all the silly samples he puts in them. “the light is coming” is unbearable to listen to due to the sample, “R.E.M” has him snarling throughout the entire thing, “sweetener” is AWFUL with Pharrell doing his anti-ASMR shtick throughout the entire thing, etc.

The Max Martin + his disciple tracks are good though. “breathin” and “everytime” are fantastic. But other than that, the album is nowhere near as good as Dangerous Woman.

ayumi_croatia 24th August 2018 03:48 PM

^^ Completely agree with you.

Pharrell ahould just call it quits.

jean-baptiste 24th August 2018 09:02 PM

On first listen, I thought the album was subpar. After another couple of listens, it's grown on me, but not by much.

"no tears" and "God is a woman" are the standout tracks. I agree with Nintendo about "the light is coming". It has some redeeming qualities, but most of it is terrible. "everytime", "sweetener" and "borderline" are also pretty good.

thinkingoutloud89 25th August 2018 10:53 AM

I love the light is coming and sweetener.
