Did you know that A Song For XX isn't really titled A Song For XX, it's A Song For, but people just put the XX there to fill in the blank! It shouldn't be there!!

i didnt know that ether, thank for the infor, i was wondering what does the XX stand for :thumbsup

Naturally Free & Easy 8th April 2004 05:49 PM

Your Welcome CT_Cool !!!

I think the XX stands for anyone - that's why when you say the title you say 'A Song for...' when I saw a CM for the album, that's what they said on it, so it seemed to me that the XX stands for 'anyone'. If you look at the lyrics of the song, most people can identify with them, so the song is for anyone, if that makes any sense...

I just thought about this.... mabey she forgot to add the three dots *meaning the sentance aint done*... mabey it was supposed to be.. A song for...

kinda liek I am... imagine if they added the XX there... itd be I AM XX

or to some people... I AM XXX :rolleyes

Naturally Free & Easy 8th April 2004 05:53 PM

YEAH!!She probably wanted to add that!! Good thinking -Zero One™-!!

ImpactBreaker 8th April 2004 05:57 PM

Well the song has the XX written in the title. However when pronuciating it is really just "A song for...." The reason ayu put the XX is because in japan they always use 2 names to call someone (i.e Ayumi Hamasaki). As in math the X is used for undetermined things I'm pretty sure Ayu made the song for someone she knows but she wanted to make it undetermined so there goes the XX covering both names of the person (Most probably it is the name of her mother).

Naturally Free & Easy 8th April 2004 06:00 PM

ImpactBreaker , that could be right too!! Wow....so many predictions on why XX.

AfanforXX 8th April 2004 06:01 PM

Yea, i also thought XX was annonymous

mnuguyen 8th April 2004 06:16 PM

Ayu had explained why she named the song "A Song for XX" during her All Night Nippon radio program.
For Ayu, she wrote this song for her mother, and she said that this was how she felt about her mother at that time. If you listen to this song and you feel like it can relate to your feelings about someone you know, you should dedicate this song to them. Hence the "XX" which stands for whatever the listener wants it to represent.
