Tell Me About...Hitomi Shimatani

Does anyone have her newest album? I was thinking of getting it after hearing ANGELUS. The CD+DVD comes with a lot of stuff and I wondered if anyone bought it. Is it any good? This is the only song I've heard by her and I really liked it.

Her style is a mix of spanish-like songs or enka-like songs. If you like these styles I guess you won't be deceived by her. I preferred her BEST album over her "tsuyoku+love letter" album to be honest. I haven't seem her newest PVs other than "Viola", which is a decent PV imo. Haven't seem the ANGELUS ~angerasu~ PV yet....

Her latest album didn't sell very well I can tell you. There's a fight scene in the ANGELUS PV, so it's pretty interesting.

But I don't like Shimatani, I can't stand the repetitiveness of her songs, I can only find one or two I like from her.

I see nothing interesting about her... :shrug

I'm not really sure what to say about her. She's pretty known for her hair (yes, even a lot more than her singing skill), and it seems to me that she fakes out her actual age... :P Most of her songs are not bad but I do like "amairo no Kami no otome" and "Viola", these two songs have a very unique sound and nice beats. By the way, the "ANGELUS -ANGERASU-" (why does she always like to repeat her song titles twice in English and katakana?! -_-) and "tsuyoku + LOVE LETTER" PVs are linked together, so it's worth a watch.

I agree...haha. She does not look like someone in their early 20s.

I love her music she's one of my favorite artist. My favorite Song on that Album is Viola. If U likethe song Viola U will Like the Album.

leafyamazaki 9th November 2004 03:54 AM

I have 'tsuioku+LOVE LETTER' It's pretty good. And yeah, I like her as an artist.
But, if you want to get introduced to her first of all, get 'Delicious!'.
Like Brightlight said about the PVs, they're connected, but only "ANGELUS" and "tsuioku+LOVE LETTER" are.

^__^ Shimatani's songs are very unique. They have a different country style to it each time. Like Viola = China. They are really nice if you like different types of songs. ^^

*can't decide between Delicious and her new one*

*after checking some samples, I want the new album! It comes with a DVD that's over 40 minutes long!* :D

*figures out what to add onto B-day Wishlist*

I think her voice is brilliant, but she's wasted at Avex.

Yep she has a great voice, it could really be put to good use, but I don't think they will really try to promote her better.

gakkun 9th November 2004 11:15 AM

I don't know much about her but I know alot of her songs and hits are covers.

I am a fan for hers. I'd get her best album first, and then it latest one. But both are good!
