THEY PLAYED UTADA's Distance single!!!! on the radio
 

Hey guys this morning was strange i live near washington dc and i had to get up 8 in the morning for work and i thought my sister was playing with my cd player because i heard Utada's distance song playing when my alarm went off. So i just got up to turn the cd player off but it wasn;t on!!! it was on 99.5 they played the whole song and the dj was like that is one of UTADA's hits over in Japan and if you would like to request it on the hot line please call in. I was like i have to be dreaming why would they be playing a japanese song on american radio? and then they played the Workout!! this is crazy!!! LOL :luv2

they just played that one song it wasn;t the ballad version but the upbeat version. I think they are promoting her this week or somthing i am going to keep up with it, It was awesome i wanna hope they start playing more jpop but i doubt it. I hope one day there would be a jpop and anime channel that be awesome

I know but i think they are only promoting utada cuz she is in America and her Exodus album is actually very good it just signed with a terrible label and bad promotion

Is that "Hot 99.5"? I used to listen to that station sometime while in D.C. I usually listen to 99.1 HFS or DC 101.1.

Excuse me? She signed to a Terrible label? Since when is Def Jam a Terrible label ? But I heard Hikki's song on the Radio a few times. I heard Easy Breezy like 5 times on Z100,once on Hot 97, and once on 105.1. I heard Devil Inside on Xm radio once

ionno if its a difficulty for Island or not, but they could've done a LOT more.

I think her label's good, but I was kind of disappointed with the amount of publicity the album got - I saw it on MTV a couple of times, but not much else. I hope she gets more popular over here! :D

Island Records doesn't promote any of their artists, so it's not just Utada. :shrug
