Previously new staff were Voted for by everyone here, nowadays they are appointed by the current staff based in large part on how helpful, friendly and respectful of the rules and of other people they are in their posts here.

There's also the Forum Helpers program, where you can nominate anyone to become a temporary staff member. Both bulmasman and I were Helpers in the past, so that could be seen as a way to evaluate suitable people before making them perminant.

Thank you for your nice comments, we do try to maintain those high ideals laid down in our forum rules/guidelines/FAQs :)

Some tips of becoming a mod:

1) You gotta have some experience in here. We wouldn't want some newbies who don't know a thing of our rules, and how to mix around in this community.

2) If you are a badmouth guy, likes to breach the rules and does all the damaging issues to this forum, you're not going anywhere.

3) Dedication. NO SINGLE CENT you are going to earn. You only give and the only you take is the respect, the sense of completion and statisfaction whenever you have solved a problem together with the rest of the staff and of course, the members.

4) You must know how to solve problems. Our problems/crisis range from minor post mistakes to large-scale mass-leaving campaign organized by losers (Yes, in this 6 years we encountered that) and you still have to clean up the mess no matter what, because you're selected to do so.

5) Programming skills are quite useful. We may even need hacking skills.

As a beginner, you might want to build up your administering experiences by participating in our Forum Helpers program for a fixed period. Also you must READ and UNDERSTAND the rules of this online community 100%. So, not scared? Wanna take up the challenge and earn the respect of other fans in cyberspace? Then join us!

Oh and one thing, after babbling so much..... we just selected 2 new mods and we really have enough hands to take care of this forum. Anyway thanks for asking.... :P

yeah why hacking skills??

should i be scared of being hacked???

and who are the new mods? corybobory and??

nmskalmn 21st December 2004 11:56 AM

isaac means hacking vBulletin. It's just a term for customizing the forum software. If someone on the AHS staff hacked another person's site they would be fired immediately.

[QUESTION] STAFF questions...

How do you become a STAFF at AHS?
Is that your full time job or part time?
And do you get a salary?
How about any gifts?
Do you people find it enjoyable to work at AHS?
And does Ayu know about this site?
I think this is the BIGGEST Ayu forum on the net!!! :yes :yes :yes

Being on the staff of AHS is a hobby to be done in one's spare time, not a job. No compensation, money, or gifts are offered. On the contrary, it costs us money to pay for the domain, webspace, bandwidth, software, etc.

wow, i really think that you guys are great to do all this voluntarily! if ayu knows about this, she'll probably be pleased that people spend so much to discuss and promote her. Great job, keep up the good work!! "Large-scale Mass-Leaving" campaign sounds like fun :mischief !! joking hehe.. Ayu forever!!
