Title: not involved in tsunami aid, mean ayumi loses points
amuro scatters money around, her kind acts win the hearts of people

Text: ayu and namie intensely competed against each other for years, and the sales of records have increasingly diverged. However, namie wins the hearts of the people because she does a lot of charity work. Her rival, ayu, occupies herself with money making. This causes a poor impression amongst the people.

namie donated 10m yen to help the tsunami disaster victims in southern asia. Her overwhelming enthusiasm won a lot of praise from the japanese press. in early february, namie went to thailand to perform for 'MTV Asia Aid' to appeal for donation. In addition, when namie was popular, she donated a percentage of her record proceeds to the charity. When she went to taiwan and korea for tours last year, she also donated 5m yen to the local charities. this proves that she has always een generous when it comes to charity.

the japanese press speculates that namie, the mother of one knows how important family warmth is due to the trauma of her mother being murdered. Hence, she is particularly generous when it comes to helping the orphans of the tsunami disaster.

ayu, who is also on the avex label, earns astronomical sums each year. howeer, she rarely participates in charity work, not even the tsunami disaster which shocked the world. ayu's selfish behaviour naturally came under attack.

Stupid article.

isaac hiew 15th March 2005 02:51 PM

So we do charity just to shoot up our publicity? I guess Namie wouldn't want people to think like that too.

I believe that charity work shouldn't be publicised too much. maybe ayu's really being "selfish", but who knows that she did them secretly?

Tasked 15th March 2005 02:54 PM

A song is born was for charity right? and wasn;t there something to buy ayu's autograph of which the money went to the tsunami-victims. I think a read that somewhere

iloveayu04 15th March 2005 03:13 PM

Thanks for the translation and scan. I hardly consider 4 sentences related to Ayu, when the rest of it is about Namie, to be a fair comparison. Bah. No proof from the Ayu camp. *beats the people at Oriental Daily*

Larisa-chan 15th March 2005 03:20 PM

yeah, couldn't she have donated money anonymously?

ohsixthirty 15th March 2005 04:58 PM

i thought ayu had also done some charity work for some drug abuse program?

//hikari 15th March 2005 05:48 PM

who were the dancers that were arrested o.O

lolo66 15th March 2005 05:51 PM

^ It was discussed in the Ayu Chat room.

Jennie Mae 15th March 2005 06:35 PM

Geez, make Ayu sound heartless why don't you... mean article, there are plenty of people who didn't donate to the tsunami crisis, why compare only Ayu and Namie?

~ayu-cake~ 15th March 2005 06:40 PM

This article is just crap in my opinio they've always got something to pin point on Ayu, ALL the time.

Coelacanth 15th March 2005 06:46 PM

Chances are Namie won't write a song about the event though, she'll keep writing her 'shake your booty' lyrics...

devilayu 15th March 2005 06:51 PM

It's unlikely Ayumi would've donated anonymously knowing that Avex wants to make big bucks out of her, they would've insisted on making a donation on her behalf. She did donate for the anti-drug thing in Thailand, but it turned out to be a smaller sum than I thought when you convert it from the Thai money (Rubles?). I dunno, Ayumi makes a lot of money but most of it goes to her handlers (of which there are many). Still, I hope that she donates something in the future (or has in the past) because the tsunami relief will last years.

Hugo_Perry 15th March 2005 07:31 PM

I had though over this question for quite sumetime before it's mention. :P Honestly, i think Amuro Namie donate is because she always been dofin' charity all the time ever since her moma die. I guess that also because she started to realize how it feel to be sumeone without parents and money. As she been through there. :( I think Hamasaki Ayumi had done sumefin' behinde the close door that nobodys really know. :innocent So why listenin' to Hong Kong's Media rubbish again. The reason why i said Hamasaki Ayumi does because of wot she had done for 119. So i dun't see it why she'll nut do it for this time. :yes Even if she didn't i can still understand because it's the sins that human had done... :P

hiroko1234 15th March 2005 10:55 PM

>< this article is so mean!

elepop 15th March 2005 11:11 PM

This sucks.

Ayu help people and she does donate money to charity too. She visites children un school. Stupid article... What makes them think that Ayu didn't donate? Because she didn't perform in a Aid's show?

This doesn't suprise me from a stupid chinese newspaper.

I'm chinese, but i know that most chinese does not like Japanese. Mostly, Ayu.

lol that true~

Ayu is quite busy :yes

Brittany 15th March 2005 11:37 PM

She's not selfish. Ayu is just busy with her work. That newspaper needs to hush up and talk about more interesting things that are going on in the world instead of gossping about singers. Jealous writers.
