another MY STORY?

since MY STORY Classical was launched, i wonder if avex will release the remix version of MY STORY (just like an ayumix series)...

kournikova 10th April 2005 05:50 AM

hmmm.. i dont think so... >.<

appears 10th April 2005 06:26 AM

that would be dope if they did that, what would be cooler was if they included remixes from [Memorial address] also, but god knows what avex is up to these days...
i hope they do indeed release a remix version of MY STORY thou, twud b ace

I'd be very happy if a MY STORY/Memorial address remix was released, but I'm not really expecting it when the sales for the last set of remix albums were rather poor.

Qt Mashi 10th April 2005 10:26 AM

hmmm...that'll be pretty kool! but i doubt it~

Halla 10th April 2005 10:48 AM

I hope so , and I feel it's even kinda likely that they will at some point. because they did release "MY STORY classical" eventho the sales for her classical remake albums have been always so low that I wonder how is it even worth it , but I guess it is.

I'd love to see a new set of RMX works based on MY STORY :D

by the way , has there ever been a official statement that the RMX did poorly ? yes , they didn't sell huge amounts but the more important issue is that were RMX works still profitable? they were done kinda cheaply afterall , dub remixed third of ayu-mi-x V himself , Ayutrance III had re-used tracks and new remixes from lesser known DJ's than Ayutrance I and Ayu-ro-mix is done by Avex's own label Super Eurobeat so it's not that expensive.

lolo66 11th April 2005 05:37 AM

I doubt it. But I will love the idea.

gogirlanime 11th April 2005 06:16 AM

I'd love to have more Ayu remixes, but I think Avex is done with excessive Ayu remixes, at least for a year or so. If she re-gaines her uber large popularity, they will probably make more again

i'd love to hear new great remixes from ayu... :P

If the RMX Works series indeed didn't sell well, then one explanation is that Ayu-Mi-X V wasn't very good to begin with. And I totally agree with everything Halla said about why the series supposedly didn't sell well.

I also would enjoy seeing a RMX Works for MY STORY, especially a mega mix that's as awesome as Ayu-Mi-X IV was.

elepop 12th April 2005 11:56 PM

I really hope not.

The songs in MY STORY aren't remix-material enough.

i seriously doubt the sales of the last remix albums will affect whether or not they release another series of albums. I mean, if anything, Avex learned their lesson on waiting until they had a decent number of songs before jumping the gun and making remix albums.

That was the major problem, imo. They did remix albums right after Rainbow was released, and the only new material they could use were the songs on Rainbow, which was very limited. They ended up having to bring some songs back to remix, and i think that that was what majorly impacted the sales. People want new things.

So that's why i think they waited until now to do them. Since they've released My Story, they've got a total of 25 new songs, which can have a lot done with. They won't have to worry about repeating the same song but different remixes on an album (ayu-mi-x V) or bring old remixes back (ayu trance 3). They can have completely new material spread across them.

I'm totally for more remix albums. They rock. And i dont think they'll stop.. i mean, after all. It's Avex. They love making money, and if making more remix albums brings in dough, i think they'll go for it.

I sure hope so. I would love the idea of a remix album, especially now that they have a lot of new stuff to remix. Seeing as how I didn't really become an Ayu fan till RAINBOW, the most current remix albums are what I liked the best 'cause I'm not a huge fan of her older stuff before Duty. Anyway...a remix of MY STORY (excluding a few tracks) and Memorial address would be really awesome. ^_^

I agree... for the RMX works that were released a couple years ago, the songs were just the same, too... so now a wider variety is out there... I certainly hope if Avex is going to make another RMX, they've better widen the spectrum.

In my opinion, the reason why Ayu-Mi-X V didn't sell that well was

1. It was way too rushed!

Yar, she released the & single, then forgiveness, then No Way to Say and finally Memorial Address + the 3 remix albums in a period of 6 months! That's too much for the consumers to stomach in.

Yar, the scheduling was just plain horrid so yar, if they had spread the thing out a little more, I'm sure things would have sold better.

2. Selection of songs

There were repetition of mixes in the Trance remix album, and well, the Non Stop Mega Mix wasn't impressive enough (other than those really good ones like real Me and Voyage (the last track) on the remix album). The Ayu-ro remix album was really good, but yar, I think the Super Eurobeat people still have a lot to work on because it just didn't feel new enough.

I think it was all part of bad planning, and to release all 3 at one go, yar right in the midst of the singles, I think Avex's way too ambitious and seriously, even if Ayu accounts for like 40% of the company's profits, for goodness sake, then have a BETTER marketing strategy or something! Because I seriously think that Avex is making very bad decisions for Ayu in terms of her marketing. Fans might think that Ayu's the one making the decisions and not support her.

Yar, so basically, that was the problem, but I thoroughly enjoyed Ayu-Mi-x IV and III, those were excellent in my opinion. They should bring back Thunderpuss and all the top remixers out there to give Ayu's music a refreshing and great twist!

Yar, combined with a NEW image, like how amazing Ayu-Mi-x IV looked, yup, I'm sure the album will sell! But I just don't know what image should Ayu portray? Haha, I was thinking of her being in this sepia tone with this female pilot image like Amelia Lockhart!
