Anyone else think that Heyx3 epp w/ Ayu and Bobby was a bit crude?
if not..VERY crude?... tell me your opinions...
I myself feel that this episode was pointless, just to make fun of someone....that's not right :(...I felt the hosts were really mean to Bobby, yes, even Ayu, I felt she also made Bobby a victim by not correcting her name and not scolding the hosts for being downright rude, as well as other little factors. >( UUGH! |
I felt the same way the first time I watched it. I was sorta horrified (maybe too harsh of a word) to see Ayu laughing at him like that. :( Especially when Bobby looked like he was about to cry and they all just laughed at him.
It is sorta his fault though..he's a big fan yet he can't even say her name? :\ |
When the episode first came out, I thought it was SO FUNNY! To be frank, though, the hosts on these types of variety shows (Heyx3, Utaban, etc) tend to be pretty rude or act without much tact in comparison to tamer shows. That's what makes it funny, though. I found it hilarious that Bobby kept saying Ayumi's name incorrectly in many different variations! I felt bad for him since he was really trying to speak Japanese correctly, you know?
|
:P that part i thought was funny XD;; he kept switching her name to other things...but other than that =\...:weep
|
I know what makes me feel bad is that ayu was laughing along with them when he made that face. :cry And they had no right at all to hit him! :curse This episode was like... :caa
|
Hamada [one of the hosts] always hits his guests on the head. It's like.. his trademark.
And those type of shows get much of their laughs from making fun of people. You have to admit though, that episode was pretty damned funny. ><" |
Yeah I felt sorry for Bobby. If that was me up there I'd be like ' WTF?! STOP LAUGHING AT ME!!' But then again that's me XD But I was also disappointed at the fact that Ayu didn't bother to correct Bobby with saying her name, instead just laughed at him ._. Even though that was one of the funniest eps I've ever seen AND understood (thanks to subs :D) I don't think it was right for them to do that. Hopefully Bobby understands that they were only joking > <
|
It was so funny.
I think it's a kind of asian culture to laugh at "imperfections" Chinese Talkshow hosts are like that too. So that's why I never thought it was mean. It's kind of weird how Bobby never actually got Ayu's name right... The hosts even said Ayu's name correct and Bobby never once got the right pronouciation. Even the word "CD". It almost looked like it was part of an act. |
omg. why are yall getting worked up on japanese culture? that kind of behavior has always been around. im mean jeez, they have shows in japan that goes around taping people taking turns slapping each other. Plus, Bobby is a Nigerian Fight BUT lives and even has his own business in Japan. And a reminder to all Heyx3 is no kiddie show. Its a late night adult contemporary comedy. So not to be rude to anyone who does find the segment offensive, but if you don't understand modern japanese culture, you really have no reason to critcize it. Oh and just some food for thought, Ayu's own show Ayuready? was not a show for kiddies also.

^ ><!! Sorry i didn't know...I guess only watching a brief clip of the show before this didn't show me the true aspects behind Hey Hey Hey,
|

guys.. its how a show becomes funny... they want more people to watch their show thats y they make it funny, but not in a very kind way... n for many japan hosted shows, they would plan about wad would happen in the show.. like they have to plan wad to say, wad questions would be asked, wad other ppl would be in the show as well... EVERYTHING has to be planned.. so its kinda of like an ACT... everyone in the show knows wads going to happen next... so it MAY be planned for bobby to act stupid or wad... I DON KNOW... n maybe ayu was to just make that funny go on n not to stop all those laughter which could affect the show's fun... I DON KNOW!!
BUT!! we may not know.. maybe that show HEY!X3 is 1 of the show that doesnt require to plan anything... maybe is a "just go there n be yourself" kinda show... |
i thought it was kinda meanhow they laughed at Bobby when he was making a sad face but i think it's nice of Ayu not correcting him about sayign her name right
|
Yeah, I think that was kind of mean, but you know, they were just joking. I would laugh along with them if I was in that situation. But I guess Bobby didn't always understand what they where laughing to. But I found that episode very funny. ^^ And when he was singing, the hosts where like "Do you always sing this way?" I have to admit, the singing was very bad xD But I think Ayu was nice not making fun of the singing, she just said "I think it was like talking." And the hosts are always funny XD

I was a little shocked when I saw it. I didn't understand a word that they were saying, but I could figure out that he was saying things totally wrong. I thought it was a bit racist for a while. But I mean, it WAS just an act, the dialogue between Bobby and the hosts was more than likely rehearsed backstage just to make a laugh.
But I did laugh when he sang. That was hilarious. But still, the whole laughing at his mistakes thing did seem pretty harsh. |

Plus, it seemed racist. Dunno, hope it was rehearsed... |

I never heard of Bobby Ologun before. I looked him up and here's what I found: Quote:
So it seems the bad Japanese is part of his act. He's been living in Japan since 2001. Here's his official site (in Japanese): http://www.bobbyologun.com/ |
It's actually quite funny when watched with the info skal provided. I didn't think it was too horrible the first time I watched it, that's how the hosts usually act and, as someone else has already pointed out, they "hit" guests all the time, including Ayu on numerous occasions. Plus, he was getting it as good as he was giving it, telling the hosts to shut up and making fun of their CDs.. haha.
