'Will' romaji and translation

I can't catch the second line clearly up to now. Abstract lyrics like "forgiveness". And I left such words as "hira hira" or "yura yura" as they are, because I think it's impossible to translate these words to English. If you find any unnatural parts, please inform me.
--------------------------------------------------
Hito wa tabiji no tochuu de iu no
?????????? kizukeru darou

Soko de dorehodo kokoro no koe ga
Michibiku mono o eraberu darou

* Dare mo shiru koto no naki
Asu to iu yami
Kono te chikara no kagiri nobashi
Kimi no tonari de chikau

** Hira hira hira hira
Hanabira chiru you ni
Yura yura yureru kokoro
Hokoritakaku are to

Kanashiki koto wa jibun no tame ni
Jibun no sugata miushinau koto

Dare mo mita koto no nai
Keshiki shinjite
Doko nimo nai ano basho no mama
Kimi no tonari de negau

*** Kira kira kira kira

Kura kura mabushisugiru hodo ni

-----------------------------------------------------
People say in the course of their journeys
??????????

How much can they choose there
What the inner voice leads them to?

* No one knows tomorrow
That is darkness
I hold out my hand with all my might
And swear next to you

** Hira hira hira hira
Like falling flower petals
Yura yura, my wavering heart
Be tall and proud

What is sad is
To lose sight of myself for the sake of myself

I believe in the scenery
No one has ever seen
And wish next to you
Staying in that place that doesn't exist

Kira kira kira kira
Like strong sunshine
Kura kura, emit a light
So dazzlingly

* (repeat)
** (repeat)
*** (repeat)

wow, abstract big time, dont really understand XD. The lyrics are kinda sad, anyone knows the "hira, kura, kira and yura"?

Echiko 11th September 2005 07:23 AM

Very abstract indeed...o o; but i like the phrase "What is sad is
To lose sight of myself for the sake of myself

I believe in the scenery
No one has ever seen
And wish next to you
Staying in that place that doesn't exist"

it's confusing but good. :D thanks for the translation!

tl1029530921 11th September 2005 07:25 AM

the second line sounds like: oto tsuna kirani kizukeru darou

DA1SUK1DAY01691 11th September 2005 07:33 AM

well, we'll find out next week wednesday

Joel 11th September 2005 07:35 AM

I really do apprecite this! :D so soon! Yay! ty!

[EDIT]

to me "hira" sounds like hita or higa and "kira" sounds like shite or kite.

but I dont no if thoughs are real words but I tried to listen to ir, but who knows. Guess I'll play the waiting game. lol

Delirium-Zer0 11th September 2005 07:41 AM

masa, you can at least translate those ...hmm... i guess they're onomotopaeic terms even though they're more feelings than sounds. There's no real equivalent in english, save a few words like "eureka" (an expression of happiness when one finds something long sought-after) or "wow" (said when something leaves you awestruck and amazed). English speakers should keep in mind, these aren't words that actually MEAN this, they're just expressions of how someone feels when this is happening, or the sound people imagine it makes, perhaps.

"hirahira"= fluttering
"yurayura" = swaying side-to-side (or perhaps trembling? the context of the lyric suggests both)
"kirakira" = glittering, shimmering
"kurakura" = like the kind of happiness where you don't even know what's up and what's down anymore (that one's kinda hard to explain, lol)

Masa, correct me if any of these are wrong, this is just what i've picked up (but i needed a dictionary for kirakira :P)

Qt Mashi 11th September 2005 07:53 AM

yeah i would also like to know wat hira, yura etc means

thanks for the translation!

Kazuko 11th September 2005 08:27 AM

w00t thankee yew :D

Shiso 11th September 2005 09:38 AM

Great translation (as always) masa-san! And alo thank You for the explanation, Delirium-Zer0-san!

Masa-san please verify if everything Delirium-Zer0-san wrote is correct (I really have no idea about onomotopaeic terms!

Thanks again - to both of You!

(and masa-san, when the single is out and we will know the exact lyrics can we count on You to complete the romaji and translation?)

masa 11th September 2005 10:17 AM

>when the single is out and we will know the exact lyrics can we count on You to complete the romaji and translation?
I'm going to do so of course.

Strictly speaking, they are not called onomotopaeic words but mimetic words, because they don't express sounds. There are many many onomotopaeic and mimetic words in Japanese and I hear it's one of the marked characteristics of Japanese language. They are all adverbs.
As for "hirahira" "yurayura" and "kirakira", I have nothing to add to the explanation of Delirium-Zer0. But as for "kurakura", I think "feeling dizzy" would be appropriate. We use "kurakura" in the case we drink alcohol too much, we suddenly feel strong sunshine on our faces, we are charmed strongly by the other sex, and so on.

Shiso 11th September 2005 10:21 AM

Thank You so much for Your explanation!

Mad_Cactuar 11th September 2005 10:47 AM

then, these onomotopaeic or mimetic words are like "Sugoi"? I really like Delirium-Zero's explanation, it makes a lot of sense when mixed with masa's translation! ^.^

[taskin.ayu] 11th September 2005 11:12 AM

Ooh very interesting. :3
These are great lyrics. ^^

Endlessoul 11th September 2005 11:46 AM

really confusing...* *

tsuki2 11th September 2005 03:10 PM

thank you so much masa!!!
I've used your romaji and translation (which I used for a French translation) on the French forum I go to and of course gave you credit for it!!

I've made Chie my japanese friend listen to it, and she thinks that she hears
"obotuna kironi kizukeru darou" for the second sentence... But she's just like you masa, she can't understand THAT precise part of the song... lol
But she translated it as "they will notice "the unsafe way" , but she's not sure how to really translate that.

But I think she might be right as it seems to make sense with the rest of the lyrics..

Mirai Noah 11th September 2005 05:19 PM

Thank you for the lyrics and translation!

DarkAyumi 11th September 2005 05:23 PM

Those are definitely abstract, I have no idea what she's talking about.

They sound really nice, though.

Amrita 11th September 2005 06:08 PM

Thanks a lot for the translation, masa-san!!

There are two parts I don't really understand:

"No one knows tomorrow
That is darkness"

I suppose these 2 lines belong together but what does that mean? Something like "No one knows tomorrow's darkness" or "No one knows whether there will be darkness tomorrow" or something else I didn't think of?

"Yura yura, my wavering heart
Be tall and proud"

Shouldn't it be "My wavering heart is tall and proud"? Or is there no connection between these lines?

I would be very happy if someone could help me with these... :)

Jennie Mae 11th September 2005 06:09 PM

Wow, pretty confusing, but yeah, it's still incredible. We'll find out everything on Wed. Thanks masa and Delirium-Zer0!
