Gackt featured in Final Fantasy VII Dirge of Ceberus
 

Yes that's right! The upcoming game Dirge of Ceberus will set to be released on 26 January 2006 with it's theme song 'REDEMPTION' as well as an insert song, 'LONGING' composed and performed by Gackt.

Not just so. Apparently, Gackt is also gonna appear as a game character in DOC. He will participate in the motion capture and have his outfit designed by Tetsuya Nomura *faints*

If you visit the official DOC website, there's actually another pic of gackt in the costume itself which I thought is absolutely cool (except that gackt looked abit dorkish with that hair >_>)

Lol I am really happy for since ages ago, I've dreaming of gackt singing theme songs for my fave rpg series Final Fantasy and this time, it's more than just that :luv2

Well, he is pretty enough to be a FF character. It'll be nice to hear the songs and see the game version of him!

haha, thats pretty cool! seems like he fits the feel of the game well.

I'm not a huge fan of Gackt. But I highly think he deserves this. He's a highly dedicated artist who actually looks good. I think he'll fill his part perfectly. I wonder which character shall he fill as? And did he really fill the part of Squall's model? I heard some voices that he was but I was not so sure.

Woah.. yes the first one really does look like Squall. Nice images by the way ^_^ And thank you for posting these. I remember seeing Gackt wearing a jacket similar to Squall's too once ^^

since I don't like him this is not good news to me ....

but I don't mind since I'm sure they'll replace him in the EU/US version , they'll have some other singer singing the theme song on the translated version. Also his character in game might not look like him at all. Wasn't Lenne based on Koda Kumi in FFX-2 ? and she didn't look like Koda at all to me ...

also to me Squall doesn't look like Gackt at all. I think Squall looks like every other anime guy characther out there ....

You're sure of that? I don't think and don't wish it'd happen. Like for Advent Children, I mean omg someone going to sing the theme song Calling in english for US/EU version? :/ I am afraid some Japanese songs just cannot be portrayed into english lyrics that easily.

By the way according to this site, Gackt will appear in the game as a character not through motion capture, but using a new CG technique instead (which i wonder how it would be like?).

I am not too sure abt this but I see a real gackt in the screen that seems to be part of the setting in the game :shakehead Is this a new CG technology of putting real gackt into the game?

Ummm... I guess i'm the only one that gonna say this. I'm nut a fan of Gackt. Infact, sumetime i find him really too tryin' -to-be-cool type so game character gonna be sumefin' like this too. Honestly, i really hate Squall from Final Fantasy VIII while i like Tidus from Final Fantasy X though he's a little bit gay-ish! Oh! Well! Maybe it's nut that bad as i think... *Shrug*

I don't really know if they're gonna replace him in the US/EU version or not , I'm just thinking they'll do cos they did replace koda kumi too. I doubt Gackt can sing the english versions of the songs himself ....

I don't see a need for english versions honestly just that in ffx-2, the songs are actually performed by the characters inside the game in the fmv, so yeah it's reasonable to have english versions.

The probably will have an english version. It wasn't only FFX-2 who had english.

Well... They might jost leave the Japanese as it because after all Final Fantasy X theme song 'Suteki da ne' is in Japanese version...:D
