Was Ayu's "A" single supposed to be her last?

This site has very good information about ayu's releases.
Some of the releases contains notes, and the notes on the "A" single says that this was supposed to be her last release.
Does anyone know anything more about this?
The notes of her "A BEST" album, which also was supposed to be her last release, says the same..

Also, didn't ayu write "TO BE" for matsuura? how are their relationship now? If he tried to end her career twice i guess it isn't any good..

O.O hmm.. I never knew this!! I want to know, I want to know!!

spacelion 15th December 2005 09:37 PM

yeah I read somewhere that it was supposed to be her last single release. I mean look at the lyrics of "End Roll." However the single did turn out well (her best selling single to date.) Some argue that she took the "A" out of LOVEppears to show that "A" was not the end of her carrer

at least I hope I'm remembering that correctly..

I am pretty sure that a majority of the songs on "A Best" are not rerecorded, besides her older hits from "A Song for XX" like "Depend on you".

for as far as I know A Song For XX, Trust and Depend on you have been rerecorded for A Best

Yarumi 16th December 2005 03:17 PM

yeah... A Song For XX was rerecorded I thought??? The ending is different... so I thought it was..

cool! THANKS for the news... I new about A Best... but not about 'A'!

Thanks for your replies.

the link ph33r provided has a lot of interesting info & i suggest reading it. it gives a lot of answers.

Interesting fact that the "A" single might be the "a" missing in LOVEppears..

ruixiong89 16th December 2005 04:07 PM

Very interesting information! Thanks a lot for alerting me to this. Oh my, I couldn't have ever imagined if Ayu just stopped her career there and then.

Delirium-Zer0 16th December 2005 05:51 PM

on A BEST, End roll was rerecorded also, and Boys & Girls was remixed, but they didn't mark it on the package.

And A was when AYU didn't want to continue anymore, and A BEST was when MAX suggested she stop. A is her best-selling single, and A BEST is her best-selling album, even to this day. Sooo... yeah. I guess they decided to keep going :P

And Yukiko, since DOME TOUR 2001 (when ayu's hearing got REALLY bad) wasn't until after A BEST was released, I don't think her hearing had anything to do with her career ending, unless Max knew her hearing was gonna get bad since it started acting up awhile before. I think he just only intended ayu to have her typical pop-artist run of 3 albums and a best-of. I don't think he thought she'd be as profitable in the long-term as she ended up being.

I downloaded a bad A BEST.

A Song for XX was a remix with a guy saying "one two, one two" at the end. Depend on you was really fast, and Trauma was remixed too. That was about it.

Oh, and also, a question. Is the Who... on the A BEST album the very same as the one on LOVEppears (minus kanariya, not counting that)?

Delirium-Zer0 17th December 2005 04:02 AM

Winterkill: That wasn't the right A BEST you downloaded. (I learned when the CD came out not to trust any DLs of it unless it was from a friend of yours who ripped the CD for you x_x) Most of the songs on there are remastered a bit, but none of the remixes are that dramatic of changes. A Song for XX's instruments are more like the MILLENNIUM MIX on LOVEppears but with new vocals. Trust is almost the same except for the vocals, and Depend on you is richer-sounding with VERY different vocals. End roll is also richer sounding and sung a bit differently. Boys & Girls just has a new mix; the instruments are the same just a bit more... dynamic-sounding, i guess. I'll have sound clips on my site of the whole thing pretty soon, hopefully.

And Who... is the same as on LOVEppears, yes.

Keishi 18th December 2005 10:32 AM

so she recorded A BEST when she has bad earing problem on her left ear? Is that why she put her fingers on her left ear? to cover it?

Delirium-Zer0 19th December 2005 04:38 AM

She was probably plugging her left ear to keep her ear from going completely deaf. Her hearing, last i checked, was really severely impaired, but not totally gone. Probably feels like having an earplug in.

[H] 19th December 2005 05:07 AM

gosh what an interesting fact. I know that End Roll was re-recorded, didn't know about Boys & Girls though... i should listen to A BEST more.

Her past career has an awesome story behind it, perhaps that's why her songs were soooo good compared to her recent releases.

Oh, didn't she took-off her ear plug when performing A Song For XX (or was it SURREAL ? ) in the Dome Tour? That concert must've been very hard for her...

thanks for the info

My life would be so different, it's unimaginable.

A BEST was actually supposed to be her final album.
