namie's "WANT ME, WANT ME", stolen?
 

yesterday I saw top model 5 and the theme was Bollywood something... and there it was, *BOOM*, when Nicole (I think) posed for the camera, the WANT ME WANT ME sound-guitar-thingy started to play and I went ballistic!
I have NO idea what song that was but I'm sure it wasnt WANT ME... just the guitar.
does anyone know anything about this?

^_^ That's just standard Indian-style music. I'm pretty sure that's the sitar.

Funny that you mentioned that episode...my friend, who's actually from India, said the music they used isn't from Bollywood at all. It's just, like greggerz189 have said, traditional Indian music. :P

When some people first heard this song they thought of Missy Elliot. I'm sure i've heard this kind of song before WANT ME, WANT ME somewhere..

Yeah, you know...Namie used the sitar in her music probably...don't think it'd be "stolen". And I see what some of you mean about the song having similarity to Missy Elliott....the song does sound like something Missy would have sang/rapped to.

Missy Elliot? I guess so, I dunno, but I know she did sample a song. My brother had it and I heard it. Really sounded the same.
