So I got to stand beside Crystal Kay today...

So if you guys are familiar with Crystal Kay...she is half African-American and half-Korean but she sings J-pop. Anyway, if you didn't know, she attends Sophia University, which is the university I'm at right now for foreign exchange program. :D My friend kept telling me to "look out for Crystal Kay" but I didn't think it'd be possible to run into her since...even though this campus is really small (compared to American campuses)...there are A LOT of people on campus here. So much that I really did figure I wouldn't ever run into her.

Well...today I ran into her in one of the cafeterias. It was quite amusing for me--I was just standing in line, waiting for some lunch (I was in the ramen line), then all the sudden I saw this girl walking by with curly hair and darker skin...I looked up and it was Crystal Kay! Even though I'm not really a fan of hers, I still felt kind of in shock that I was standing so close to a J-pop star. She was also getting ramen, too (haha)...we had to stand in line together for awhile since the lunch ladies were kind of backed up on orders...I eavesdropped a bit on her conversation that she had with her friend ^^;;; (She was speaking in English)...

I wanted to talk to her and all but I would have felt weird if I said to her "Hey, you're Crystal Kay! Be my friend!"...I'm sure she gets that a lot and gets annoyed with people being all fan-like. But, yeah, I didn't talk with her..after I got my ramen I lost sight of her anyway since there were too many people in the cafeteria. x___x;; But I must say, that was amusing for me...maybe I will run into her again sometime? :P Haha it's not everyday that I run into J-pop stars ^^;;

I DON"T LIKE YOU

;)

I like some of her songs! Wow.. she's just like a normal student there, huh? that's really cool!

sexysaucestar 14th April 2006 09:44 AM

Hahaha, please don't hate me Brittany :P

Yes, she's pretty much just a normal student here, trying to get her college education. Haha, my friend has her on his myspace...he said CK told him once how she was in the library (here at Sophia) with some of her friends and a Japanese girl kept trying to take a picture of CK with cellphone behind a book...:laugh Hahhaa, so I'm sure CK gets noticed a lot around campus....I wonder if her non-Japanese friends are aware of her J-pop stardom? o_o

stardusties 14th April 2006 09:53 AM

^ lol that'd be kinda weird if they didn't

WOAH! totally awsome!!! i wonder how she can eep up with school and her career ^_^ that's amazing! does she look prettier in person!?

rofl, eavesdropping XD silly you! does she sound nice? :) waaaah! -goes crazy-

but yea...i bet she might be tired of that...hmmmif i was a star...i don't know how i'd feel about that hehe, i'd maybe be happy about everyone(well not everyone but you know haha) liking me cuz i'd have a purpose in life...lol this went strangly off topic...

majorly OT!: oh man..i don't like ramen...o_o

bluegie 14th April 2006 11:19 AM

When I read your title I misread something like "I gotta stand beside (support) somebody"... LOL..

Anywayz.. you should greet her like, "hi"... Or at least smile at her :D. Ahh... so nice that you live in Japan. I wish I live there as well :'(

hallelujah_united 14th April 2006 11:48 AM

Lucky you. Although I'd have to agree that it would have been really weird if you tried to say something to her. Without creating an opportunity, at least.

So from the looks of it, she seems just like your everyday college student.

Wonder when you'll get to bump into Arashiro Beni. She's in the same university too right?

sexysaucestar 14th April 2006 02:19 PM

Well, Crystal K IS human like the rest of us :P But ya, she seemed like the typical college student...wasn't really flaunting her status or anything ^^

Oh yeah, and yes, Arashiro Beni attends the same university...haha, I keep seeing this girl around campus who looks like Beni, but I don't think it's her really. :P

Hazuki 14th April 2006 03:52 PM

Ahh~ Cool.
I'd probobly be all wide-eyed if I was there :P I never thought you could see a Jpop star act so normal o_o

That girl in the library sounds crazy. :laugh

sexysaucestar 14th April 2006 04:12 PM

^ The girl probably was....:P I think CK was all "If you want to take my picture why don't you just ask me!!!" ....haha, poor fangirl. :P

elepop 14th April 2006 04:34 PM

I'm not a fan of CK, but still... So cool! XD

That's amazing! O_______O
lol

Calico 14th April 2006 08:42 PM

That's...awesome!

When I was in Tokyo, I kept thinking that there was a SLIM chance that I would see somebody. But nope, and I didn't expect to.

The closest I got to a J-pop star was standing next to giant posters and stuff.

Mmm...ramen...

nmskalmn 14th April 2006 08:43 PM

Neat!

I wonder what CK is studying.

sexysaucestar 15th April 2006 04:49 AM

^ Yeah, I wonder the same thing. Sophia University isn't that big of a school...I've heard a lot of Japanese say they're studying law here. But there's also business, liberal arts, etc. .....not sure! Maybe if I get to see CK again I'll ask her? :P Haha!
