Your dreamband

If you could just 'compile' your own band, which artists would be in it? What kind of music 'd they play? Would it be a mix of the styles of all of them seperately, or just all of them playing the music of one of the artists? Just jot something down, curious to see what people would consider their dreamband!

I'll kick off:

UA ... Vocals
Sam Beam (Iron & Wine) ... Guitar
Joanna Newsom ... Harp/Harpsichord
Mark Mothersbaugh (Devo) ... Synths/Keyboard
Animal Collective ... Chants/Screams/Shouts/Percussion

Their style would be a mixture of all of these artists' own sound - jazz-influenced free folk with hints of post-punk. And it would sound so good.

Nick D'Virgilio (Spock's Beard) - Drums
Doug Pinnick (King's X) - Bass/Vocals
Derek Sherinian (ex-Dream Theater, Planet X) - Keyboards
Richard D. James (Aphex Twin) - DJ, programming
Me - Guitar/Vocals

Basically it would be an insane mix of IDM, shred, prog-metal, and whatever else came to mind.

Also it might would be cool me to do a shred/hip-hop collaboration with someone like the RZA or DJ Muggs.

I'm sure some 'true' music enthuasiast would just cringe reading this , but I think vocalists and the composer/producer are all that matter in a band & in the artists music & etc.

I know this isn't a 'band' but I'll reply anyways : I'd like to see Terry Lewis & Jimmy Jam producing for any of my favorite artist in western/asian music . the gerne would be simply cheesy pop or RnB-pop :P

Ooh, fun topic. It'd be Dream Theater + others. For those of you who don't know....

John Petrucci on the guitar.
Mike Portnoy on the drums.
John Myung on the bass.
Jordan Rudess on the keyboards.

And the others would be

Ayumi doing vocals :)
Vanessa Mae on the violin.
Femi Kuti on the trumpet.

YEAH! I have no idea how that would sound, but I would be their biggest fan.

My dreamband already exists and it's known as Belle & Sebastian.
