Do you still use Casette Tapes?

So, after seeing there are many Casette Tapes in China (of Ayumi), I wanted to know if anyone on this forum still listens to their casette tapes.

-----

I still use them. There are a lot of songs that we've recorded on tapes from the radio, and they still work fine.
Our old car didn't even have a CD Player (The new one does), so you could only use tapes.
I like them, they're pretty cool and I don't mind having them :)

I have tapes with some rare stuff on them of one group, or they're hard to get on CD. I have a couple of concert tapes that I love, though I haven't really listened to them for a while because the batteries are gone in the remote and I'm too lazy to replace them :laugh I do listen to them occasionally, though.

I have some mixed tapes of some radio hits/favorite CD tracks from awhile ago..these are of sentimental/historical value to me since they show what kind of music I listened to back-in-the-day. ;)

i dont use them anymore.. my dad's hifi set cant even play cassette tapes!! XD

Japanese class always required us to record ourselves on cassettes, or do interviews on them, but with these cassette players that I'm sure were older than I am and were pretty funny to operate. That's the only time I've used cassettes since... junior high? We dont own a player any more :(

ohsixthirty 5th May 2006 07:57 PM

nope, i can't even remember the last time i used a cassette.

We used to have to use cassette recorders in Spanish. :yes

I have some songs recorded from the radio onto tapes, so I sometimes still listen to them.

lol funny story.

i was at work and some old guy asked if we sold 80Track players, i looked at him and told him no we only have CD systems and MP3 systems, he looked at me and said, "how about cassette players?" and i replied, nope none of those either, theyre pretty much gone.

he stormed out so fast :laugh poor old man.

^ahaha. Try a second-hand shop.

My stereo has two tape decks in it, but I don't use them often.
I have a couple old Elton John and Colm Wilkinson tapes that I play once in a blue moon.

:laugh that rocks!

chibi_sunny 5th May 2006 10:49 PM

I used to but definitely not now.

Calico 6th May 2006 01:06 AM

Nope. Not at all.

I way prefer even a CD single over a cassette tape. I dread getting a car without a CD player. :laugh

He probably wishes for the good ol' days.

Just watch, we're going to be just like him when we're at that age--CDs just might become obsolete as we grow older. :shakehead

Ayumi no Yume 6th May 2006 06:52 AM

CASETTE TAPES ARE STILL ALIVE!!!!
:( I used to use those mostly.. I've converted by main use to CD, though...
And for Video Cassette tapes, I still use frequently.
Hmm... It's ashame you can't rip music from cassette. :( I have an ancient No Doubt tape that I love.. I just don't really have a good tape player... D:

If the Media was smart, they still wouldv'e continued to use casettes...
You can't rip that stuff and put it on the internet! :yes

JesA 6th May 2006 07:17 AM

cassette tapes were becoming obsolete when i was born LOL....replaced by cds....i dont use music tapes anymore...i did when i was like 4....i thought i was hot stuff LOL....but i use video cassettes countless times per month. i never get to the classic disney movies released on dvd in time...so i use my old video cassttes....

HanabiChick 6th May 2006 10:46 AM

I use video cassettes too, because we still use a video recorder - a DVD-recorder is more than we can afford. Plus, I still record personal videos from my video camera onto tape, and I have videos that I bought in America of things that aren't released here, so I still watch those and my old tapes. I have a lot of old videos, I really have too many...
