The figure of Ayu's earning for avex

According to Avex Report, Ayu earned $8 billion yen for Avex and Koda Kumi earned $8.4 billion yen. The two figures are revenue

And profit of Avex in 2005 is $9.7 yen, Remember, this is profit, after covering expenses.

It's impressive that though koda, with such a high sale, can only beat ayu so little in terms of sales revenue

Let me clarify, the above figures are the money the two earned FOR AVEX, not themselves. The figure includes all revenues, from CD sales, magazine shoots, TV performances, commercial contracts., concerts......... in 2005. And of coz CD sales constitute the major sum.

Do you have a link for us to see?

Nevada 5th July 2006 05:07 AM

Is this from that other thread? O_o;

emi♡ 5th July 2006 05:31 AM

IS this from the Kumi breaks whatever record for her sales?

where is everyone?

immel 5th July 2006 05:32 AM

I don't think the numbers are in the other thread, or are they?

Well, it's been explained why it is like this, the main reason seem to be that Kuu has a much lower salary/is getting a lower %-age of money from her sales, due to an old contract still being valid. That, or it's simply that she's been releasing way more(?) stuff.

This is the money the artists earned in total for their record label, not the money they earned for their own pocket.

andre2907 5th July 2006 05:37 AM

I don't think Koda Kumi earned more than Ayu in total.

Kuu did have a best album ...i wouldn't be surprised if she sold more. I don't get where the 8 billion and 8.4 billion came from.

Honestly, where is everyone?

immel 5th July 2006 09:42 AM

Remember that the sales numbers in ayu_fan929s post doesn't include merchandise or profit from concerts such as AT, a-nation and CDL.

I've heard that Ayumis concerts is what brings in the most money compared to other sales, and it seems likely considering how crazy amounts of merchandise is sold at them.

truehappiness 5th July 2006 09:44 AM

Probably.

Also cause people do buy the limited 16800 yen shirts/hats.. and then they sell out.

SELL OUT. XD

pbs1605 5th July 2006 09:47 AM

How much of that would Ayumi get?

immel 5th July 2006 10:07 AM

^No one here knows what her contract says, so it's impossible to even guess.

A rumour stated that her total income for her past 10 years is 4,290,000,000 YEN (37,283,310.31 USD), based on estimation because the Japanese government doesn't release tax information about celebreties any longer due to privacy issues. Here's the source: Dorama World, I posted about it in the news section some time ago I think.

nmskalmn 5th July 2006 12:57 PM

Whether we believe it or not is irrelevant. Showing the source is the proper and polite thing.

Please include sources when posting news here

ayu_fan929 5th July 2006 02:07 PM

Uhhh...yeah there's still no source.... Gross Profit doesn't cover expenses I think (but I do remember it was in the 9 billions) I think 'Net Income' is the final final number and it was like 4.4 billion or something.

Yep. But now I've updated with the (rough) addition of ticket sales only (does not include a-nation). Obviously, Ayu made the biggest jump out of the 4.

I don't really trust that since avex did mention it had total revenue of 89.8 billion yen. How can Kumi have 77 billion and Ayu have 70 billion in the same year?

heyheyderek 5th July 2006 05:52 PM

Koda constantly releases her singles and albums~
Avex spent so much money on Koda in order to get high sales~
Money spent on ayu(singles and albums),relatively, was much less..
Therefore, profit of Koda isn't much higher than ayu's~
Also, ayu's arena tour helped gain a lot of profit as it was so popular~
