[SALES] BLUE BIRD 8th Sales

"BLUE BIRD" 8th Week Sales

Weekly Sales: 1,919
Total Sales: 254,366
Yearly Ranking: 23

(m)u is still out

Mad_Cactuar 16th August 2006 01:11 PM

Ouch.. x__x But it might beat Koi no Tsubomi if the drop minimizes.

truehappiness 16th August 2006 01:12 PM

Well, Ayu's still doing hotly. <3

254k is pretty high when some people struggle with even hitting 100k total~ :]

Sales might go up for a week or two due to a-nation~ and then again when Ayu starts promoting for the new single + whatever else she has planned + tour DVD..

darkswordz 16th August 2006 01:34 PM

did not drop too much :yes

elepop 16th August 2006 01:35 PM

Depending on how the last 2 a-nation weekends, it might or might not. But then again, remember that Kuu will also be promoting Koi as well so, yeah.

She would be promoting both.

nodoka 16th August 2006 04:18 PM

ahh! I want (m)u to come back in again! I thought it was a very good album of hers.

^unfortunately these days "good music" rarely define whether CDs sell well X.x

(although there ARE a lot of counter-examples like Angela Aki :D)

Angela Aki's Home deserves to sell two million copies. It's just brilliant.

ayu_fan929 16th August 2006 07:39 PM

^Well the good thing is her name/music is getting out. Maybe back in 2000, she would have gotten close to a million.

An a-nation boost would be very nice.

Axel_Grease 16th August 2006 08:03 PM

In 1997, she probably would have sold more than a million. Maybe two. But that's the way the stock market goes... :) Right now, one million = two million back then.

Funny, cause in Norway, it's a great achievement when artists sell like 20.000 copies of their single.... Says alot about the population number in Japan though:)

One million = two million yes, but that is in money/dollars, not in cd sales, cause you can't really put cd sales under the stock market. Money value rises, so if she sold i.e 150 copies today, then that would still equal to selling 150 copies in 1997:)
Sorry if I misunderstood, maybe you mean that cause of p2p sites, people download instead...

Terri 16th August 2006 11:01 PM

Mmmm...I suppose Ayu is doing well, considering all the odds against her. You can download not just Ayu songs anywhere, but full blown albums :dead2 Not only that, nobody sells millions of records anymore...ANYWHERE. The times have changed, the fans have changed, and the whole music industry flipped.

One artist doesn't reign all like it used to be :no

BUT, we should all congradulate ourselves, or whoever actually brought Ayu cds :D and THANK Ayu for the albums so we can spend our dough

Not really. I mean, it makes sense, but it isn't that simple.
