Ayu CAPS (includes merged threads)

Why are some song titles in all capital letters?(UNITE!,NEVER EVER, TO BE, etc.) Also, some don't have the the first letter capitalized (poker face, vogue, forgiveness, etc) Is there some hidden or special meaning for this? Or does Ayu just like to have some song titles in all-caps and other uncapitalized at all?

BanFan 10th July 2004 05:47 PM

I think it's just kind of random. I don't know why she does it...But I ignore it because whenever I type her titles I type them normal with just one cap...

Maybe someone can notice a pattern with them...

Coelacanth 10th July 2004 05:50 PM

I don't know why... but I think its really cool...

If you think about it... it's not only Ayu who does this... Mostly everyone in J-music titles their songs like that... :yes

sxesven 10th July 2004 06:03 PM

She probably just thinks it looks nice.

JimmyKoria 10th July 2004 06:47 PM

Yeah, probably to put enphasis on the title, to make it more dramatic?

tl1029530921 10th July 2004 06:51 PM

i remember someone saying that the songs with capitalized titles means she feels more strongly towards the osng..

m-a-z-e 10th July 2004 09:00 PM

But saying that alot of JPop singers do this. Like Koda Kumi ' COLOR OF SOUL' 'COME WITH ME' 'love across the ocean' (No Capital L) So I don't know, it's always the english titled songs that have this done to them.

^ ayu extends it 2 the japanese titled songs also...

Hana

Ayufan11 11th July 2004 12:14 AM

hmmm, dunno ~_~

mnuguyen 11th July 2004 12:42 AM

It's just something to catch the attention of the audience...
Almost everyone in the Japanese music industry does it.
Maybe for Ayu it does have a meaning, or maybe it doesn't, we'll never know.

Cloud 11th July 2004 08:56 AM

I think it's just becuz of the appearance.
For example, IMO, "Far away" looks better than "Far Away" or "FAR AWAY"

weijie22 11th July 2004 09:07 AM

easy to remmember

~K+ 11th July 2004 09:20 AM

I think it's important. I'd like to follow it by typing it as what it's supposed to be, there's a reason I'm sure even if the reason is just for ecstatic value.

And it's "INSPIRE" :yes

If you study graphics you'll learn that there's all sorts of jibberish reasoning and analysing behind lettering.............

Chireresu 11th July 2004 09:26 AM

I don't know, maybe she hides her phone number and stuffs in the letters.D00d that would be so cool.lol.It really would..Uhh.(goes to look at Ayu song titles and covers) If any of us become rich and famous singers then I guess we can be awesome like Ayu and all the other J-singers and type stuff like that!(i sure would in like five seconds) Eheh. ^-^;;

Kacper87 11th July 2004 11:12 PM

secret behind the letters:P

I also was wondering 'bout this letters... I even had this concept that maybe it has something to do with the commercials? Maybe the songs with capital letters are the ones that haven't been used in any commercial??? if i weren't so lazy I would check it:) but probobaly it's just for show.

yep, seems EVERYONE has been writing [Inspire] (sore wo miru to, cyotto okoru :p)

CREA 13th July 2004 04:50 AM

This has always been pet peeve of mine. I can't stand seeing song titles not written in their original format ~_~ (ie people typing 'Never Ever' instead of 'NEVER EVER')

And for some reason it is really easy to remember how the lettering is.

Masa wrote in an article a while ago that often songs that she has in all caps have weak, suffering lyrics ("NEVER EVER" being used as an example again) and she tries to come off as being strong.

I personally think this makes the titles look more stylish.

kournikova 13th July 2004 04:54 AM

Dunno why... I guess its just her mood to put the song in all capital letter or not

AyuLover 13th July 2004 05:02 AM

Interesting.....I have wondered about this too.

CREA's theory makes sense....because look at the lyrics of these songs (or singles) and you will find despair and sadness:

SEASONS
WHATEVER
TO BE
NEVER EVER
INSPIRE
GAME
HANABI
RAINBOW
H
A
M
&
SURREAL
AUDIENCE
ANGEL'S SONG

Makes a lot of sense. :yes LOL.....HAM.
