I think it's a mystery. The only clue maybe is that 0630 is the day before 0701. :shrug

AyuGAME 13th September 2006 02:38 AM

hmm...it has an abstract meaning for me too

alt.total-loser 13th September 2006 02:47 AM

Someone on here said it was the 'death date of her father'. >__> But they didn't give anything to back it up and it seems rather... odd sounding.

BigAyuFan 13th September 2006 02:52 AM

maybe we can try to find the clues off the picture like, why that shape of mirror,or the numbers, the lipstick, and her heels??

alt.total-loser 13th September 2006 03:12 AM

Well. The mirror is like a sun... or a star. Wasn't there a line in Memorial address with the word star? I think there was.
The numbers. 0630. June 30th? I don't know, really.
Lipstick. It's red. o__o It's supposed to go on your lips, but it's on the mirror. Loving the person who died(!)? Kissing it? BLAH!
Her heels are silver. Reflective.

I so went no where with all that.

HiruNoKaze 13th September 2006 06:10 PM

I wonder if it's mentioned somewhere in the sea of lost or untranslated text...

immel 13th September 2006 06:12 PM

^Huge possibility ... well, I've been around for such a short time but the last time I saw this being discussed I think the general consent was that it is a date... after that, no clue.

Oh my god! The day before July 1st! One of her songs, July 1st!

=O

Wait, RAINBOW came out before Memorial Adress, right? Darn x.x

"There are two usual summer events to me. One is the party held every year on June 30, the birthday of the owner of this bar (in Tokyo), when many old friends of mine I can't usually see gather here. To me, that is the one and only unhealthy night of the year, from June 30 to July 1st."

she said that in an interview

nodoka 13th September 2006 10:30 PM

wow i didn't really pay attention to this before but I'm interested now.

BigAyuFan 13th September 2006 10:36 PM

well the only line i found in July 1st is this one that might:eyebrow have something to do with June 30.

If it's fine tomorrow, I will go to that sea
Changing the pain with the tears shed yesterday
Into tenderness

but i dont think Ayus lyrics r that way its definitely about all her past.so i have no idea what the 0630 still means.its to hard to figure out:headache

pbs1605 14th September 2006 07:52 AM

You pointed out something thats interesting. :yes

Then again...its just a possibility. -might-

immel 14th September 2006 09:18 AM

Well, if you look at that part of the lyrics again, she first sings If it's fine tomorrow, I will go to that sea, that tomorrow would be July 2nd, and while she is at the sea that day she will Change the pain with the tears she shed yesterday - which brings us back to July 1st.

It's an interesting thought, but that is how I interpret it.

Kodayumi 14th September 2006 09:26 AM

^^cool...thanx for that..

I thought it was some 4D numbers...lottery in other words.:P

The inspiration for "July 1st" was not only the birthday party or her day off, but also a photography shown to her during the "Hamasaki Republic" interview.
From masa-san's site:

This article (add: the quote posted by shavoingin) makes it clear why the second song is titled strangely as "July 1st." But the scene sung about in this song is not the party place at night but the sea in the daytime. Why? -- In fact, there was one more thing which lead her to make this song. In the interview of "Hamasaki Republic", she and the interviewer were talking as below, looking at a photo of the sea in a magazine.
O: How do you think about the sentence? ("If it's fine tomorrow, let's go to the sea.")
A: Nice. I'm glad to hear someone tell me so, for example. A family member or a friend or a boyfriend. Because if someone tell me so, I'm in his or her future. I'm in his or her tomorrow. I'm glad of that. ("Hamasaki Republic")

We have to consider that the lyrics who accompaign the picture with "0630" are those for "Greatful days". I don't think ayu would've used this picture if her father had died that day with the lyrics of "Greatful days". It'd be more natural to use it with "Memorial address" then. So I think that "Greatful days" is very much tied to "July 1st" and maybe that's the reason for the "0630" writing. Maybe she wanted to emphasize it.

Sorry, if I didn't make much sense, but I can't think of any other way to put it, now...

wait a second..........if it says tommorow, wouldent it still be july first saying that tommorow would be july 2nd and if its nice she'll go to the sea and meaning that yesturday would have been june 30th if she was saying tommorow on july 1st??because if she says tommorow it would still be july1st day saying it to tommorow on the 2nd??wow thats WAY!! to confusing!!!???!!!
