there is no ayu at all

Surprising! No Ayu! =O

I'm guessing it's because of the lack of an Ayu ballad for people to sing :p

Most of the songs on the list are older than 2006.. 'classics'..

Just look at LOVE Machine O_O. That's from 2000.

^Still, it's pretty surprising, granted the number of hits Ayu has had.

I'm surprised that there's no Nami Amuro on the 90s list.

I bet Ayu just barely missed the cut for some of these polls.. :p

I would have expected SEASONS or Boys & Girls to be there. (I'd totally karaoke to "TRAIN-TRAIN". Go 80s Japan!)

Heck, it's been almost 3 years since "Sakuranbo"'s release and it's still in the karaoke top 5. Go Ai-chan power. Oh and yay "LOVE MACHINE" is on the list.

Sales and karaoke favourites are completely different if you guys ever go to karaoke...

I guess it's because it was such a favorite to sing.. cause well.. it IS fun to sing lol

I have sung Cutie Honey at karaoke but that's it. I'm surprised that Ayu and Hikki aren't there at all.

I*m not surprised at all. These all are either folk songs, sleeper hits or drama / movie /anime songs mostly. Ayu is mostly quantity, not one big hit. Hikki's considered a "high class" musician and I think her songs are though to be " hard" to sing. If you saw the reaction when matsuura sung be my last, the audience was "ooh"ing of "amazement".

Also people like singing light hearted songs, or "shallow" tear jerking songs in karaoke. Ayu's lyrics are more heavy thoughted and hardly light hearted. In general.
