Unpublished lyrics

Hello,May I know that why some of ayumi's song didn't published the lyrics in her album or her DVD such as:

1.Present (A Song for XX - album)
2.girlish (Duty - album)
3.flower garden (ARENA TOUR 2005 - DVD)

Although they have wrote some note for the lyric, but may I know the real reason for these?
Thank you very much!! ^_^

Raiu-Ayu 14th October 2006 03:52 PM

Well, flower garden does have lyrics in the Arena Tour 2005 booklet. It'a about 4 lines only cuz she just repeats it again the second time around I think

immel 14th October 2006 03:54 PM

That's weird... I also want to know the cause of this, never knew that she didn't publish the lyrics of all her songs officially.

huyuhuyu 14th October 2006 04:07 PM

i found the italian (but there's also roomaji and kanji) translations in a website that's pretty famous here ^^; but i was thinking she published lyrics for those songs O_O

JesA 14th October 2006 04:20 PM

yea, i wondered that too...all thats there is like 2-4 lines, but i dont know what they say...

truehappiness 14th October 2006 11:07 PM

In the case of Present, this was said.

The lyrics to "Memorial address" were also never printed...it said the same thing it said for "Present", I think.

~Matt~ 15th October 2006 12:58 AM

Also the lyrics of "ever free" were never officially shown

Ryoko 15th October 2006 01:16 AM

Ever free was shown in the "vogue" booklet I believe.

It seems that it doesn't.
It says the same thing that the not-included album tracks say I think.

Delirium-Zer0 15th October 2006 06:08 AM

I don't know for sure why they're not published, as I've never heard or read a quote from ayu explaining why. I have my hypotheses though... Other artists decide not to do this, and the only one I ever heard a reason from was the singer Seal. He said in the booklet for his second album that he didn't want to disillusion people who were really touched by a certain lyric, because what if it turned out they had the lyric wrong the whole time? He wanted people to hear what they wanted to hear. Ayu could be thinking the same thing in the cases of those songs.

That's really interesting! I would have never thought of that.

I always thought Ayu's reason was the lyrics were attached to something very personal and she just choose not to publish them.

I actually never knew they weren't published. That's a good question. I guess the lyrics are personal to her and she doesn't want to share them on text because she might feel...embarassed maybe?

alt.total-loser 15th October 2006 08:12 AM

Doesn't want to share them in text? People can hear them plain as day when she sings. >__>

I don't really know the reason of course. But I rather like what Delirium-Zer0 posted.

LacusClyne 15th October 2006 10:09 AM

well, in those oversea version. the chinese translation says something like 'due to the writer's work intention, the lyrics aren't included, please excuse"

Yeah, I know that happened with Memorial Address and ever free.

But I think the purpose is like how Deli mentioned the Seal scenario; let fans hear what they wanna hear, and translate it their own way. I know Memorial Address would be hard to catch on to the first crack, so i don't know.

truehappiness 15th October 2006 11:49 AM

It's not that big of a deal since some of the songs performed have lyrics in the tour booklets anyway [Memorial address.. etc]~ :X

Alessia_Tateno 18th October 2006 08:43 AM

I dont remember but also Memorial Address lyrics werent released if I remember well...

fεяnαndδ 22nd October 2006 01:11 PM

That's scary. I knew nothing about this. Why in the world didn't she want to publish the lyrics? Sounds stupid.

truehappiness 22nd October 2006 02:05 PM

You must not understand what 'letting the listener decide for themselves' means.. :p

I'm sure someone explained it in a previous post why she did it. Perhaps it was possibly too personal?
