Ayu cannot reach certain high notes??

During Countdown 2002-2003, was she sick or something?? She could not hit the high notes in Hanabi and Voyage.

I think she said something in the speech and everybody cheered. Anyone knows what happened or what she said??

It happened before too.

During 25th July 2002 (AX Music TV Special), she could not hit the high notes in Hanabi.

But the very next day 26th July 2002 (Music Station), she could hit the notes again though her voice was pretty sore.

As a simple reply I can tell you that, yes, she was sick during CDL0203.

About her hitting high notes, I don't have any information on that.

AyUmIXx 31st October 2006 01:44 PM

yeah definitely..she was sick..
poor her...even though she was sick, she was still able to do the concert..
not only just CDL02-03 but on Dome Tour 2001, her left/right leg was injured..but she didn't care as long as she could make her fans happy..

Tomiie 31st October 2006 01:50 PM

No wonder!

I admire her, really. She could just cancel the gig and reschedule it for another day. But I guess she knew that 31st December 2002 only happens once. And she didn't wanna disappoint her fans. :)

AyUmIXx 31st October 2006 02:29 PM

yeah true..that's why i admire her too.. :)
she's such a strong woman..

when i watched Dome Tour 2001..
she didn't look like she was injured..
i just knew it after i watched the DVD..
and i was quite shocking!

Its almost annoyin, but when u have somethin with your throat and u force your voice for like 5, 6 song, its quite impossible to hit high notes, and even more difficult to maintain theese notes.

Yeah the Dome Tour 01 was kinda sad.... but she is a strong woman and I love her for that^^

Tomiie, I think you'd be very interested in seeing this interview, it's very deep going and it talks about Ayu being sick during CDL0203.

immel: do u have the script of that interview?

immel 31st October 2006 03:45 PM

Do you mean translation? There's subtitles for it, and those got the translation in them.

makie_7 31st October 2006 03:47 PM

I didn't know she was sick during countdown 2002/2003, but I did notice her voice was different.

immel 31st October 2006 03:51 PM

Everyone who doesn't know about this, and are interested in a very moving and revealing interview with Ayu, check out the NTV Special Interview, it has got subtitles. It's a documentary about Ayumi.

Rickumi 31st October 2006 08:13 PM

i saw this one

its very interesting indeed^^

pbs1605 1st November 2006 02:37 AM

Good on Ayumi for still trying and not cancelling even though she was sick.

truehappiness 1st November 2006 02:40 AM

I imagine that the fans are what bring her to perform even when she's like dying D:

I mean she did do DT01 with a sprained[?] ankle.. :< And no one knew!

For people who have the NTV Special Interview without subtitles and can't download martin's, there's a translation here: http://www.ahsforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=25478

It's quite hard to hit those notes under those circumstances...but Ayu does what she has to.

blueskies_1091 1st November 2006 09:52 AM

WOW!! That would be a reason that Ayu is inspirational! She is strong indeed and I respect her for that! ^_^

Wait a minute, her leg was injured? Didn't she lose hearing as well? :o

alternarist 1st November 2006 10:32 AM

she didnt lose her hearing. but nearly lost it.

she was frequently exposed to sounds that are of very high decibels. then one day, she realised that she cant hear anything with her left ear. during the last rehearsal for the DOME TOUR 2001, her hearing affected her balance and she fell into a hole, injuring her ankle. the doctor said that its best for her to rest if not she might lose her hearing permanently. but she continued to press on and started the concert later than the scheduled time. her leg was still injured at the time of the concert. :(

yamogi 1st November 2006 10:55 AM

on that day, she suffered from cold/influenza

That's kind of sad, like a series of unfortunate events, but shows how much of a fighter she is.
