Sugababes and their new single/album.

I'm sure at least a few members have heard of them. They're the biggest UK girl group of the new millenium. Girls Aloud too I suppose, but Sugababes are not as corny or tacky.

The group made out of Keisha, Heidi and Amelle will release their brand new single, Easy, on the 6th of November. Their new album Overloaded: The Singles Collection will follow shortly after and it's a greatest hit compilation. There's lotsa controversy about the group's members, you can search for them on the net. AHS also has a thread on it some time ago.

Anyway, their new song "Easy" is amazing. Personally, I feel the chorus is too simple and weak but other than that, excellent arrangements, verses and a bridge that will blow you away. And a very stylish video which is just breathtaking. The single cover really does not reflect just how good the song or video is.

When it comes to the chorus they are in adjacent cubicles using the doors as props, during the middle of the music video, the girls are seen in a showroom with a red curtain in different costumes.

The video for the song is very popular on MTV Poland's "The Interactive Chart". It reached the #1 spot several times.

I'm loving Amelle. What do you guys think of the fact that the compilation album will have songs sung by the older members as well? :shrug The re-recorded ones with Amelle wasn't used in the end to replace Siobhan Donaughy's presence. Plus "Follow Me Home" won't be on it. That sucks, that's why I'm not really thinking of getting the album. I want the single so badly though.

I will definalty be getting the greatest hits album.I have been waiting for them to release one for so long. And yes i have heard of them and really like them.

First of all, does the whole Sugababes and GA thing remind you of Ayumi and Hikki? :D It does remind me.
Anyway, the song is AMAZING, I love it, except for Amelle's part and I don't like Amelle very much either. Although when her hair is blowing in the video, that's cool. :P
In addition to FMH, the compilation won't have Soul Sound, which is one of my all-time favourites! :(
I'm definitely getting the album, I'm not sure if it will be as popular as GA's, but I'll still love it.

i love the sugababes!

the easy pv is sooo funky! i love their outfits!

did u know the sugababes are now going to focus on solo careers for a while now? According to FMSM Blog
Quote:

Original Sugababe Keisha Buchanan has said the Sugababes feels like they need to take a break from the band soon to attempt Destiny's Child style solo careers.
Keisha says: "We all want to do solo careers. "It is something we talk about a lot. We love what the girls in Destiny's Child did by going off and then getting together again later. I am sure things will happen naturally."
"I think we need to take a break soon so that I can enjoy being me. People have said to me, 'Tell me about yourself,' and all I could say was, 'I'm a Sugababe.' That really upset me for a long time."
i'm looking forward to hearing their solo stuff, and i hope they do re-join after solo careers

Amelle is my favourite member. Well, Heidi, but Amelle comes second. I love her brash, loud voice. It's so.. dirty? :laugh Plus she's hot.

LOL, Sugababes vs. Girls Aloud? Maybe.. It'd be fun. :D

I never expected someone from Estonia to be a fan though, you're awesome.

If I was a Sugababe, I'd be proud to scream it in the streets. Not implying I'd like to be one or anything. That'd be just.. nasty.

I'd LOVE to listen to the original Heidi. She's so beautiful and her voice is amazingly unique.

I think it's good that the album has the original vocals. Mutya, especially, was part of Sugababes when they released their biggest hits and I wouldn't like it if she was left out of the greatest hits album - I don't know if it's something that's usually done when a member is replaced, but it just wouldn't feel fair IMO.

* they kept that original voices in some songs!!! cool

Yes easy is a very good and stylish song. Just too bad that they are going solo after the new girl came. They should make at least one new album and then go solo. hmpf

That'd be just.. something that Girls Aloud would do. :innocent No, really, considering their recent interviews where they lash everyone who is even mildly popular.

Oh you got it wrong, they want to go solo, they're not going to.

Their new album is already being recorded right? It will be released sometime in 2007, the first one with Amelle singing in every track.

I wasn't going to buy it or anything, but I really think they should have put all the old songs with Amelle's vocals on the album. That way it'll appeal to the die hards, the casual fans and those in between who might not buy the album b/c there's isn't much new on it. It seems kinda silly putting Amelle on the album cover now, since she hasn't been on nearly as many songs as Mutya.

I'm a huge Sugababes fan. They are in my top 5 fav artists with Girls Aloud, Kelly CLarkson, Ayumi, and Utada. I adore their new single. My only beef is with the next single "Good to be gone" it's not very good for a single,. but I'm sure i'll love it after some more listens.

Ava 6th November 2006 10:48 PM

Hate. I saw little making of of the video in the german tv.
They can't walk with the outfits of the video!

I also dont think it'll make a good single. Easy isn't exactly very successful though. It charted at #30 based on downloads alone, so I'm guessing a Top 20 entry.

..:Hot:Like:Wow:.. 7th November 2006 08:45 AM

I'm buying this for sure, even though I don't like the new member.

Mad_Cactuar 7th November 2006 12:20 PM

LOL. The review from the TOTP site.

Sugababes - 'Easy'

Gah! What is this FILTH? Fair enough, the art of singing about sex without really mentioning sex is as old as music itself, but this is just dirty with a capital 'Urr'.

Here's an example of just some of the lovely 'metaphors' on display within this song:

"Got such a pretty kitty boy, know you wanna pet it"
"I've got a landing strip clear for you at the airport"
"The weather's nice and wet just south of the border"

Most disturbing, no? And this is all accompanied by a synth bass which could not sound more like a fart if there was a little grunt that came with every note. Nice Girls Aloud chorus though...
