MTV Japan's Music Video Awards 2003
 

Katase Nana and Zeebra will host this years VMAs. Set to air May 31,
Crystal Kay and Craig David are to perform while Double, Minmi and a few others will present awards. The nominees are a mix of American and Japanese artists including Utada Hikaru, Avril Lavinge, Justin Timberlake, Rip Slyme, and Hamasaki Ayumi. A full list of nominees can be found here. this is MTV.. JAPAN MUSIC AWARDS, not AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS. this is ****! the awards are supposted to go to JAPANESE artisits/bands.

i know avril and justin are pretty popular in japan, but still .. :rolleyes

who starts playing american pop muzik in japan anyway? like we americans get japanese music played in america. :rolleyes .. and i've heard that japan is turning more american with teens.. i've got a good feeling this is turning true.

ayumi is more popular than avril. period.

yes over in the " AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS " i dont see hikki or ayumi dominatin the nominations..actually i dont see any of them..

i know.. japan wants to expand their horizons,. . . . but i'm mad, because .. do i see any nominees for.. japanese or asian artists in the mtv american music awards? nope,.. america is sad.

this is an outrage. Only 1 nomination for Ayu, and Avril Lavigne (although i like her) is nominated for almost all of them. Now i'm really angry.

Ayu received only one nomination. She was nominated for "Best Pop Video" for "Real Me."

I'm not crazy about any of the PVs in the Best Pop Video category. None of them are super spectacular. I wasn't a big fan of Real Me's PV. RAINBOW's PV was much better (but I'm guessing it was released too late to be eligible).

I'm really surprised that she didn't get more nominations! Like I Am for album of the year! I am was the best!!!!!! It seems like most of the nominees are western.

i really like Blue but i dont think that so many european/american artists should be represented at the japanese awards.
