WOW, did anyone else notice?

Born to be is one of my favorite songs that ayu has...i listen to it everyday...
If you listen to the version that on the single Startin/Born to be, and then listen to it again in the Secret album, there is a noticable difference.
It kinda sounds....muffled.
Especially the beginning, and the drums.
Its much louder on the single.

Anyone else agree or am i just too obsessed...lol

..:Hot:Like:Wow:.. 28th November 2006 10:02 AM

The album version seems better, it's more cleaned up.

~X2RADialbomber~ 28th November 2006 10:04 AM

Oh well. That's what happened to alterna.

ruixiong89 28th November 2006 11:17 AM

Yup, I've heard both versions repeatedly to find the difference between them. In the album version, the instruments are less daunting. It's slightly muted as opposed to the single version.

alternarist 28th November 2006 11:52 AM

wow! i din realise that... but i guess i prefer the single version where the instruments are more daunting! :P Born To Be... will not be what is without the percussion. i like it! :D

jeffycue 28th November 2006 11:56 AM

it sounds the same... hahaha.. i dont have a musician ear.

immel 28th November 2006 01:20 PM

Yes, it was noticeable already in the preview. This version is "cleaner", I forgot the English word. The volume on the album track has also been reduced a lot, it's almost equal all over now. The BOOM effect is more apparent in the single version, the chorus is louder.

Like x2 mentioned this is what happened to alterna, too, but more or less in reverse, I think.

Raleigh 28th November 2006 01:23 PM

Hm I didn't notice the difference to be honest but it isn't unusual for some songs to have an album version.

~K+ 28th November 2006 01:50 PM

All the singles were muffled on the album, including Startin', BLUE BIRD and Beautiful Fighters.

Sounds more to me that the album has been badly produced, even the album tracks were flat like that, the sound is all meshed together. Unless all 3 different rips I've downloaded were poorly ripped.

truehappiness 28th November 2006 01:52 PM

Is there really that large of a difference?

immel 28th November 2006 01:56 PM

I haven't heard it in the other songs, I need to compare them to each other. The difference in BTB... is very noticeable, though.

AyuGAME 28th November 2006 02:10 PM

its not a big difference...but i can hear it too...
i think startin and born to be both having a different sound

Yeah, it's kinda annoying. I was like "is this really the 320kbps rip?"

AyUmIXx 28th November 2006 02:38 PM

i don't feel any difference anyway.
i'm listening to Born To Be... album version now..
well don't know~

PURIN 28th November 2006 07:11 PM

maybe that means you should buy the album

Calico 28th November 2006 07:16 PM

I didn't really notice it either, but that's a shame. The one reason I liked BTB is because it was so "BOOM!" :laugh

Diana 28th November 2006 07:27 PM

Well.. no, cause I didn`t listen to it on the album :P when (or if) I do I`ll tell :D

nodoka 28th November 2006 10:16 PM

Yeah, but I don't really like it when they change the songs from single version to album version...

Erina 29th November 2006 12:03 AM

I honestly didn't notice a difference. Maybe I'll listen to them back to back, that will make it easier for me. :P

explodingbird 29th November 2006 12:39 AM

I don't pay enough attention. I don't notice the difference often between versions - I'd be hard-pressed to point of sonic differences between versions of TO BE or alterna (unless I just keep getting the wrong files? Possible) - although in alterna's case, the version I watch in the PV sounds the exact same as the album mix. Do they maybe use the same mix? That would explain it...

I'll have to give Born To Be... - both versions - a few spins to see if my ears perk up. This is coming from someone who can pretty much point out differences between the Red/Green versions of songs on Shania Twain's Up!.
