Maybe you should try some Oshare Kei or Visual Kei if you haven't yet ; even though they aren't that much punk, it's all I know ^^;

Heh. I have a couple Asian Kung-Fu Generation songs. Are they actually considered... punk?

Erina 3rd December 2006 01:00 AM

^ I don't consider Asian Kung-Fu Generation punk.

paper_doll 3rd December 2006 04:18 AM

Possibly The Piass?

adpoyao 3rd December 2006 06:50 AM

A couple of Tokyo Jihen's songs are punk too, although theyre more rock/alternative jazz.

Balzac
The Stalin
The Mad Capsule Markets
Straightener
Last Alliance
Charcoal Filter
Coaltar of the Deepers (maybe? They have sort of a punk sound but they have some slower ballads too.)

Punk...? Umm... I'm not too sure if there's really any "J-Punk" band...

But I suggest HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR.

Flyhigher 6th December 2006 09:06 PM

There are actually quite a few J-punk bands, but some of them are older bands like The Stalin, Balzac, and Coaltar of the Deepers so most people don't know about them.

I uploaded a few songs from some of the bands

thank you so much. <3

I don't think Coaltar of the Deepers is punk but I like them.

The Pillows kind of a punk feel but I wouldnt call them Punk. Some of Shiina Ringo's stuff can feel like that too, especially Konfukuron (album version).

shadow*puppet 8th December 2006 09:35 AM

honestly, most of the artists here aren't "punk" in the true sense of the word... :P they're hardrock at best...

if you want REAL punk a la sex pistols, I recommend the Japanoise artists:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Japanoise_artists

once it goes mainstream, it isn't punk, imo...

Miku 8th December 2006 09:40 AM

WAI!!!
thank you so much guys :D

jeffycue 8th December 2006 09:51 AM

the only PUNK group i consider is HOME MADE KAZOKU.. try them.

Alessia_Tateno 8th December 2006 10:59 AM

I recommend you Show Wesugi, he makes many styles rock/punk/grunge/ballads ^^ especially in "al.ni.co" days.

Miku 8th December 2006 09:20 PM

ok I'll try everything out : D
