Faye Wong "Jovell" CM vs. "evolution" PV

Okay, okay, okay, i KNOW! Doing the whole "people are copying ayu!!" thing is STUPID, and the last thing I'd ever do is jump on that bandwagon for no reason. And to be honest, i'm NOT looking for a debate, just wanted to show this to a bunch of my friends and I expect no more than "Huh, that IS kinda like the evolution PV!".

Again, I don't want to offend anyone, and I'm gonna ask the mods to close the thread as soon as anyone says anything like "Ayu's prettier!" or "Ayu's is better!". I LOVE Faye Wong, and I LOVE ayu as you all well know. I just thought I'd throw this out there because it's good for a few giggles. ^_^

When I actually watched it, it wasn't as much as Evolution as it was expected to be (from the caps).

Maybe I've just watched the evolution PV too many times, lol! When it came out I just watched in non-stop for MONTHS! XD So yeah, when I saw the Jovell CM i thought of it immediately ^^;;

I agree with the above post. I wouldn't have thought it was similar at all. I think because I'm used to thinking about Ayu's PVs as all having some kind of deeper meaning, that when she applies an "overused" (I don't know if that is the right word, maybe famous) idea, such as the one presented here in both media, there's always depth behind it.

I think that the CM is just...to "show off" Faye, in respect to whatever they are doing.

It is. To be honest, only the somewhat monotone shot of the various photos posted up REALLY looks like something exactly from the evolution PV. (And then the creepy guy with sunglasses overlooking production with his hand on his chin in a "thinky" sort of position, BIT of a coincidence.) The others were just like "OMG!" coincidences that added up to more than the sum of their parts. But yeah, I adore faye and ayu both so this commercial made me all giggly. :)

by the caps it looks identical, the actual cm just seems like what i'd imagine your typical photo/video shoot to look like.

faye's is more mysterious due to the colours
ayu's is more energetic and the color is much more brighter
by looking at the caps..you'd really think of evolution but the actual cm...not too much actually

haha, thats funny. whats especially funny is that from the caps its looks identical, but in the cm everyone (including me) thinks it isn't so obvious. it sort of goes to show that its easy to make things look similar, depending on what parts you show. :yes

wow how similar. it does make you think. but i will always like faye and ayu on different levels. neither is better or worse. they both shine in their own ways.

Well... I'm not thinking that it is something that copy or not... It's just a common idea i think, things when artists are shoot a video, and there is a director...

I think that even evolution's ayu is not so original :D

I agree with most people, it's hard to notice the two have similarities by just watching but by the caps you it's like "ouch"

About the CM... it's certainly not Faye that copied or did whatever to ideas in Evolution PV, since it's a CM and I bet the whole concept was done without her participating in the 'brain-storm' process.

The other thing is, this looks a bit more like Madonna's "Rain" music video rather than Ayumi's Evolution (which obviously has elements taken from Madonna's vid), in the end I would say they took ideas from both Evolution and Rain.
