Ayumi and High Definition
When you guys think the avex trax group will be release something in High Definition I mean HD-DVD or Bluray ?
With hd-dvds players for 200 bucks for xbox360 and almost 1.5 millions PS3 with bluray sold its razoable... The dvds from Album + dvd is soooo poor in quality...its not wide anamorphic and looks horrible in a Plasma HDTV or LCD.... I want Ayu in 1080p someone knows something about? |
Isnt that gonna be very expensive? Ayu fans gonna go broke faster, lol.
|
I think will be almost the same price
One movie in hd-dvd or in bluray its basic the same price in DVD version |
CES Sony just revealed that Sony's Blu-Ray has acquired 96% of the market share in Japan. So yes, as the battle is practically (unless a big turn of events happen) Blu-Ray is winning in Japan.
Prices of Blu-Rays are the same as DVDs in America, so I think they should be around the same in Japan also. Ayumi HD BRs would be pretty awesome. PS3s can play it easily. |
This is something i've been hoping for, but i missed that CES announcement - if true, it's very good news. All the studios in the world could back Blu-ray but if avex hops on then i will be the happiest camper in the world since joining the blu-ray side of things
Ooh, not even just PVs, but tours in HD.... bold and delicious |
yes i relli hope Ayu to release some HD or blue ray, i just bought a new 46inch LCD and Ayu's PV's are not as HQ
|
I hope they don't. Not a lot of people have HDTVs or the money for one. :/
|
I hope they do, but I hope they don't stop making DVDs. They didn't phase out VHS releases until 2002 so I think DVDs will keep going strong for a long time.
|
I hope they keep DVDs as well. XD I don't want to go and buy a blue ray DVD. Imagine the DVD ISO then. O__O 50Gigs for an Ayu concert. XD

Avex could save a lot of money by putting all of her PV's on on BR disc. And it would save a lot of disc's too. Thats IMO. But HD. WOW, then everyone can see ayu in HD that you can literally see her makeup! |
I sure hope not. I don't think I'll be getting a BRplayer any time soon :(
I still love DVDs. |
i dont' think they'd release that stuff until well into the future when either HDDVD or Blu ray are proven to be the hands down main media.
|
Well, there's something worth saving for, haha. Ayu future concerts video are gonna be crystal clear, especially the zoom-ins. Still gotta compare the visual differences tho.

Plasma should be a lot more adjustable, but I suppose widescreen format might couse the image to be streched - but that's what DVD player controls are for, you should be able to set the image to 16:9, so that the size normalizes. It will probably couse the image to be cut on top and bottom, or two black bars on the sides will be visible as the original 4:3-proportioned frame will be centered on the display. It has to be that way, since everything depends on how the image frame was sized/proportioned during filming. If they film a video in widescreen, after adjusting the image to fit a widescreen TV, there shouldn't be anything lost from the frame. But if they filmed the video in a 4:3 frame, even if the film editing crew or the DVD production crew stand on their heads, they won't be able to make it adjustable to a widescreen format without any quality lost - they would have to either zoom the frame or enlarge it, cousing quality loss, and then cut it properly, to make it look widescreen. In that process, they drop both image quality and pieces of the video frame (means you can't see some things you would see if the frame was left intact, without any widescreen conversion). Just play the videos on standard non-LCD TV to not be bugged by pixel disortions or MPEG compression artefacts, which are a lot more visible on LCD displays due to their nature. |
Haha, u guys r really into the visual quality aspect. For me, as long can see Ayu's face clearly, I quite contented =)
|
U know, the last CDL and AT06 were actually filmed with Hi-Vision cameras. Meaning, they are originally HD, resized to DVD size :)
So it is already possible to make BR discs of the last 2 concert dvds :) I think it were about 48 cameras for AT06 :D |
You don't need any better cameras than the ones that are widely used right now, to make HD quality digital video. You just need to retrive the image in proper resolution (HD resolution in this case) from the original negative film.
|
Forget Bluray/HDDVD, I just want them to release some HD content. I can just stream it from my PC through to my 360 in HD xD
