The 28-year-old actress was sitting in the front seat of a Mini Cooper when the car smashed into a protective fence on an expressway, then hit by a van from behind. Xu's assistant reportedly drove the car, but only sustained minor injuries.

Xu Weilun's head was seriously fractured and she fell into a deep coma after the accident. Xu died of hydrocephalus.

Xu's parents and many friends, including Ariel Lin Yichen (林依晨), Zhao Shanwei (张善为) and her ex-boyfriend Lee Wei (李威), stayed at the hospital to accompany her.

The star, once nominated for a Golden Bell award for best supporting actress, was also known for her love affairs with ex-boyfriends Lee Wei and Vic Zhou Yumin (周渝民).

Last year, Chinese actor Hu Ge (胡歌) and Super Girl He Jie (何洁) were injured in car accident.

The doctor said, because of the water-swell in the brain, all this while, her condition did not improve. At 1709, she had a cardiac arrest. After the doctors' rescue, they could not revive her, and she's certified dead at 1937.
Her family is handling the matters, and wil lsend her body back to Taipei tonight.

This is such tragic news. She was such a amiable girl with great potential. It gives me the goosebumps because I was just watching her on a variety show a few days ago. May she rest in peace.

But it's one creepy coincidence.
There were also reports of her having written about life / dying in a journal days before..

Seeing the picture is slightly.. eerie. It was her less than 12 hours before the accident..

that's because a lot of things related to DN are kinda negative, making it sound like 'the Death Note Curse'

when i saw the thread title, i thought it was Su Hui Lun (Tarcy Su) who died. she is a popular singer in taiwan, who made a cover of "Lemon Tree".

Regarding the Death Note ad, it's just too coincidence already. By the way I just read today's papers saying that she wrote if she leaves this world, she hopes everyone will always come and visit her, talk to her, sing to her... She wrote this in her journal which was published not long ago.. This was written on page '128' of the journal. And she passed away on Jan 28. As for the Death Note matter, Light died on Jan 28 too in the movie..

about the character's death in DN, can you put that in a spoiler? i believe there should be members who had not got that far, reading that line accidentally will ruin the whole manga/anime for them

Yup she was about to get out of the car to see what's wrong and then the accident occurred. =(
