Whether that is her Grandmother or not is in question. (I'm thinking it's not.) There was a Youtube video that showed her and that old lady together as some sort of special and it looked like they were meeting for the first time.

Either way, that old lady looks just like *my* grandmother. Slightly creeped out right now.

And awww her mother is so cute. (This is my first time seeing her) I can see where Ayu gets her charm from.

lolz, this photo looks as if it was taken only recently (the hair!), but it's kinda old, isn't it? Seriously, she looks the same way she looks now :P

lol yeah i see that lady too~ i think she might be just someone who works there who is also a fan of Ayu...and Ayu was in a good mood so she felt like hugging the nearest teddy bear look alike :D

Ayu's mom has her big ass eyes. I wonder if they're close? I hope so, unless she has some siblings I've never heard of i think her mom is Ayu's last relative. Her grandmother died the day poker face was released i think.

Not really. Although they seem to be closer now than they were in the past.

Also, once again the pic with the old lady is probably NOT her Grandmother.

Why do you think that?

Reading from this interview (http://homepage2.nifty.com/morimasa/rockin.html), I get the feeling that they must have been close. After all, her only family members were her grandma and mom. Her family situation reminds me of my own, I was raised by my grandma primarily but I had a close (almost friend/sisterlike) relationship with my mom. However, this is all based on judgement. (i've only been an ayu fan since 2006... ><)

I was under the impression Ayu's mom was away from home a lot since she had to work very hard to support the family once her husband left.

Also, does Ayu have any siblings?

^ I think the official (99%) answer is no. I wouldn't be surprised if Shu-Ya was her secret brother or something. xD No, that'd be too weird.

Now that I think about it, I wonder if Ayu is more sad or happy on that day. :shrug

She was probably sad for the first few years, but probably "turned it around" by thinking of the event as something that gave her inspiration to go on in the music business, rather than quit after the first single..

After all her grandma did raise her up until that point in her life, and now look at where Ayu is. :D
