[Avex] Digital Sales
 

I've been going through avex's PDF's on their site and they have released actual numbers for legal downloads of Ayu's recent singles. Here's a list I've compiled:

STEP you - 800,000 Downloads + 100,000 Chaku Uta Full = 900,000 Downloads source
fairyland - 790,000 Downloads + 80,000 Chaku Uta Full = 870,000 Downloads source
HEAVEN - 1,390,000 Downloads + 190,000 Chaku Uta Full = 1,580,000 Downloads source
BLUE BIRD - 1,030,000 Downloads source

This is all the info I can find so far.. I've been digging and digging and can't really find much more. I'd also like to point out that Secret has sold over 800,000 physical sales according to avex ^^

These sales are pretty awesome. I'll keep updating as I find more data throughout the records

^ oo so it did reach 1mill+ are these physical or are they downloads+physical?

Either way.. 1.5 MILLION people downloaded HEAVEN.. That's a lot.. 1.5 Million people liked the song so much that they downloaded it as a ringtone. Obviously it's likely mainly fans who actually purchase the physical single and most casual listeners get it digitally. So these songs appealed to a LOT of casual listeners..

too bad these sales don't count ;_;

Chaku-Uta Full are the most important numbers imo, since they are DLs of the whole song.

its good she is doing well of digital sales. her cd sales look like their falling but digital sales are good.

i don't know whether this is ringtones or not, but i doubt it. i do see it as a sign that more casual listeners were interested in "blue bird", but due to the style this doesn't surprise me much.

Utada has had a lot of succcess with digital sales (infact hasn't she gotten the most digital sales of any Japanese artist?). I think since we tend to stay home more often now and we spend a lot more time on our computers or on mp3 players it only makes sense that digital sales would be so strong.

Yeah. I heard that her Flavor of Life is the highest selling download single of all time in Japan. It sold nearly 5.6 million.

Flavor of Life ringtones were around 3 million? And the actual song was around 1 million I think. (I'm combining both the ~Ballad version~ and the original version)
