Eason Chan "Settles" With Ayumi Hamasaki

Earlier, Eason Chan openly criticized Ayumi Hamasaki for lip-syncing at her concert, but never would he have thought his words would bring such stress to Ayumi nor would they become headline news. Picutres of Ayumi getting drunk and acting out of character were taken, allegedly due to Eason's comments.

After a promotional event yesterday, Eason admits that he has a big mouth and what he says can affect many people, but he emphasizes that he did not intentionally say those words to hurt anyone. But if in fact it was his words that affected Ayumi's behavior then he is deeply embarrassed.

Reports have it that he openly criticized Ayumi to make headlines, so he can use the "fame" to debut in the Japanese music industry. Hearing this, Eason was utterly shocked. He says, "It was not intentional. If I have to use this type of news to gain fame, it would not be dignified and I'd rather not have the fame. I don't want to say things to hurt other people but if what I said did hurt others, then I must say I am deeply embarrassed. If I were to enter the Japanese industry, I would enter solely as a singer and not as headline news."

Eason was then asked whether he will publicly apologize to Ayumi, he says, "I don't have to do it publicly, I've already personally explained it to Ayumi. During my time with EEG, Avex [Ayumi's record company] helped produce my Mandarin albums so I've already personally explained to Avex's president that it was not intentional and I didn't know it would become such a big problem. But I don't know if he passed it along."

Dear god, his face..

Where are these "pictures?" >>

ohsixthirty 30th April 2007 04:37 AM

blah. he sounds like he's full of crap. :shrug

sora2522 30th April 2007 04:38 AM

that's what i'm thinking...

yamogi 30th April 2007 04:46 AM

Full of excuses and it is not an apology at all. He still believe in what he said !!

LacusClyne 30th April 2007 07:35 AM

i'm not happy with his apology at all...unsincere

he's ONLY apologising for hurting her. but what about accusing her? if he never apologise for that, this so-called apology is useless and unsincere

I disagree with every single one of you. I feel he made a mistake and owned up to it. He didn't realize the impact that he would have.

Please note, I don't care at all about Eason Chan, but I feel the vilification of him by Ayu fans is a little overdone in consideration of the fact that all he did was speak his mind and didn't think twice about the impact that it might cause. So really, he made a huge mistake. This incident was also blown out of proportion by the ever-hungry media.

He's so ugly... anyway, I don't think saying "sorry" to Avex and then hope they pass it on to Ayu isn't a very good way... It's a stupid way

and I agree with touchedstar: He's full of crap

Well this is not his first time openly critizing a artist. Seriously he's been in the industry like for a long time. I think longer than ayu. There's always lots of rumors and stuff that the media makes up and make a big deal out of it like almost everyday. Its no excuse for him to say things like that without thinking. Ayu's been on the headlines in taiwan and before her HK concert started. The media followed her like everywhere she went. There is not way that he wouldn't know the media will not make a big deal out of it. If he didn't know, he's a baka. Anyways, I don't accept his so call apology but I think that is like the best we could get from him.

Enough with him..we shouldn't give him more fame than he deserves.

Qt Mashi 30th April 2007 08:23 AM

he's probably laughing inside thinking he hurted Ayu's feelings so easily, sounds like he's pitying Ayu, he's apology is too late to be accepted

This is so boring! Life is not a soap opera Mr Eason Chan!

truehappiness 30th April 2007 08:26 AM

Is this how Eason gets fans? :|

FoObY 30th April 2007 08:33 AM

yeah, I think so to!!! :yes

Imagine Eason giving a concert (imagine, I said imagine) and there are only like what... 10 people to see him??? (imagine, I said)

ayumu24 30th April 2007 08:57 AM

Ayu got drunk because of his critics?? Haha, it's ridiculous. For ayu, his remark is NOTHING!! She now never cares about those stupid critics and never gets offended because she is now so strong. Is this guy thinking that he is influential over ayu? If so, ridiculous.

AyuGAME 30th April 2007 08:58 AM

i kind of mad right now...
i need to rest up my mind...
i really want to support ayu...can we send a message to her?

~ayu-cake~ 30th April 2007 09:20 AM

Ah whatever.
It's over.
I don't think fans should get upset anymore.
Don't give him the time.

That picture sure is flattering.

Ayumiko 30th April 2007 09:25 AM

Its really sucks coz people do actually think he was right and she really did...and it was wrong of her to hold a concert and lip sync. The only thing I could do is buy the concert dvd to support her for her hard work.

I was just listening to A BEST 2 white: real me and my name's women. Listening to them somehow made me feel more pissed off at him. I was cooling down but thinking how this is worse than him critising a male artist coz ayu is a woman. A man made a woman unhappy makes me pissed off. What a great man he is.

..:Hot:Like:Wow:.. 30th April 2007 09:33 AM

Get a face lift!! actually scrap that, get a face transplant!

WillofDusk 30th April 2007 09:47 AM

I can't find any sympathy in this apology. He's so lame.
Dun say I'm immature, the immature is Eason himself. He is in the music industry for a long time doesn't mean all his comments are correct n he is allowed to strike at other artist.
He's just apologizing for his album.
