Does Ayu know that she has fans in America?
I've been wondering about this recently. There are a lot of Ayu fans here in the states and I'm wondering if she even knows that we exist. I know there are Ayu fans here from other countries, but I'm just curious specifically about the US.
|
I'm sure she does...I'm sure Ayu knows that she has fans all over the world. Any artist (esp. ones who are really, really popular, and Ayu is huge all over Asia) would probably expect that. Plus, she just has to see how Kumi and everyone else who went to the US to perform was accepted. I don't think she knows exactly how many there may be, but I'm sure she knows we exist. If you're wondering why she doesn't come here to perform or anything, I'm sure she would like to (since she obviously loves the US even for just vacationing/photo opportuniies) but right now she's focusing on appealing towards mainland Asia.

Do you think she also know European fans exist?
And did Kumi perform in the US? |
yup, im sure she knows. Ayu definitely know smething: she's famous in this earth :D

I'm sure she's aware that she has fans all over the world (as like other huge artists, such as Madonna), but I guess the time it would take would be too consuming to visit how she would want to visit. Wasn't there a report about the Asian concerts, and how much they had to ship, which was about 200 tons or something? So try taking that all the way to Europe, the US, or Canada. >.< (Haha, I just read Calico's post. It looks so similar. Gomen!) See, the only thing is that I don't think the US market is ready for something as foreign as Ayu. Considering her best songs are mostly ALL in Japanese (only three songs from the thirty on A BEST 2 feature more than "la" in the song, which happen to be all on WHITE), it would be hard to get the one-track mind of America to accept something this exotic. Even though the market is actually getting bigger (from what I see), the material being released is declining in my opinion. So if Ayu were to release with translation sheets and get offical subs for her PVs, it could be hard to top her with her lyrics... (meaning she could be a huge threat to American artists in the same market as her) |
How exactly is Ayumi supposed to know about worldwide fans when her releases are distributed only in Japan and other parts of East and South-West Asia? Does avex trax find out which countries shops such as HMV and CDJapan send their Ayumi CDs? Or is it just natural that when you're the biggest selling solo artist in a country with a big music market, you have people who like you all over the world? :P

oh right...forgot about those...
well, maybe the fact that dearest and no more words were in inuyasha that might help people buy her i am.. album? |
hope she knows that she has fans in Portugal...
(Ayumi: Where's Portugal??) XDD |
Well. Considering how big she knows she is in Japan and Asia... I would hope she knows she has some form of fans in other countries. Kind of CS.
And... Dreamin Startin... you're in South Carolina?! OMSC. xD |
she definitely knows.
|
oh yeah she knows! I'm not sure how, but she definately knows, as well as avex, they must be aware of Ayu's, and JPops', huge fanbase over the world ^_^

Well, so far a lot of responses have given the answer that I already figured might be true (her being hugely popular means shed know she has fans all over the world), I was just hoping that someone had some kind of info of anything shes ever said or done that indicated she knew about us. As in, some evidence.

Well, i think i remember from somewhere Ayu saying that she doesnt' plan to tour in the US or at least not anytime soon. Dont' quote me on it though... one can infer that she knows people want her to come but she doesn't wanna...
|
Hi, I`m big fan Ayu from Poland, I dreming of Ayu tour in Europe. I know she made single "connected" to reach fans in german
|
yeah, she has said she doesn't want to expand her career to the US.
i'm sure she knows she has fans here though. she comes to the US often enough that i'm sure she's had fans come up to her. also i remember people yelling to her in the bold and delicious video. i'm assuming they were US fans. |
And even when she said in the CNN Interview about that she would "go anywhere in the world," I'm sure she didn't mean it literally (well, within the next few years at least). I'm sure she means it, but... you know?
Even if Ayu were to come over to perform over here (in the US), I think it would just have to be a mini-concert kind of thing. I don't think she should perform at a convention (especially an anime one). I don't really think it would make her look good, you know what I'm saying? |
^ I don't care what she performs or where within the US; I can't afford to go to Japan but I want to see her so bad.
T_T |
I'm sure she does. One time I was reading an interview of Hyori Lee from a magazine and she was like "I love BJunkyard! there's so many pictures of me on there" and that is an english fansite...so Yeah. more than likely, she knows.
BJunkyard's Hyori Gallery is HUGE. Like couple hundred pages HUGE. |
