Most Under-rated Japanese Artists

I think she is underrated as well, she needs to release some new stuff. >_<

Is also a (very) underrated artist... she has an incredible talent in music, but i just don't understand why she's not big in her country... she should go overseas, she can do it tons better that other artist (UTADA )...and it seems she has more fans outside Japan...

Bonnie Pink.
She is a great artist. She writes her lyrics in English and japanese, plays guitar and piano and her songs are so emotive.
Wate Me, A Perfect Sky, Last Kiss are the prove!

Eri Nobuchika
She is so cool.
She can mix up beat with Pop and make a great song.
Or Up Beat + Ballad = Lights/ Kodou.Are so great musics. And the Piano notes are amazing!!!!

Misia
She is at #30 in the top sellers singers
She sells more than kuraki mai for example and almost the same than very popular singers like namie. And she doesn't even go to any TV shows!!

mink
Is definately under rated.
She has an amazing and unique voice. I think she deserves more atention!!

I think mink and myco both have unique voices and good songs. :o Yet I don't usually see people talk about them.

Okay, okay. I do see people talk about mink sometimes but it only seems to be positive talk 50% of the time. D:

Eri Nobuchika. But she needs to stop pulling a "Mai Kudou".

paris match. A modern jazz band.

Ryohei Yamamoto. A male R&B singer. Not something you find everyday in Japan.

YOSHIKA. Also a great R&B songstress. Her songs are calm and relaxing. Sadly not much of an attention-catcher.

I so agree about BONNIE PINK! That was the first (no wait, actually second =P) artist to pop up in my mind. I got to know her music not too long ago (around the time she released "A Perfect Sky"), but she's a really talented artist. And I have to say that her English lyrics are tons better than most of Utadas...

Johnny's?
I know that they are almost everywhere and maybe some people are really annoyed by the fact that they watch a dorama and have like 4187461 zillion Johnny's in there. I wonder how many people are aware of the fact how much they actually work, though. Some of them may not be the best singers, dancers or actors, but they work really hard. For example, KAT-TUN did 11 shows for their first concert! And Kamenashi (from KAT-TUN) once mentioned he had only 5 free days in a year!

Absolutely everyone in Japan seems to know her though. It isn't like people don't know her, or she isn't respected for her divine vocal abilities. I'm in love with her, but I don't think she's really underrated.

I would say that Okuda Miwako is though, but only for her first album. It's one of the best, most surprisingly innovative debuts I've ever heard. Her second album is utter crap though and almost completely wrecks her in my eyes.

I totally agree!! She has SO much talent, and she makes such great lyrics/compositions! She speaks English fluently, so I definitely think she should go overseas too~

Aya Ueto
I love her music so much~ Her voice is so nice and soothing, and her songs are too ^__^ Plus, she's just plain adorable too ;_;

T.M.Revolution
This guy's music is AMAZING. Seriously. It's got such an unique sound to it!! His voice is great, too 8D

Hitomi Shimatani
Her voice is sooo beautiful *_* She's also got some of the most unique music I've ever heard!! I really wish she'd get more promotion ;_;

ALI PROJECT
Their music is also amazing! I can't even describe it, it's just so different xD They're able to combine classical and pop/dance music seamlessly and make it sound so awesome 8D

eiko shimamiya

she's awesome. her music can be gorgeous, dark, driven, lite or peppy. not matter what, her vocals are always impressive. she has a gorgeous voice, and shes just fantastic all over. 'O' is one of my favourite albums from any artist.

Rurutia - although her voice is somewhat weak, her music is very beautiful. One of my favorite songs is Selenite.
