^Yes, she was an R&B singer. I'm quite sure you may know a song, just don't know it's by her. Aaliyah died in an airplane crash after shooting a videoclip somewhere (I don't remember where exactly). It's said that the plane was too heavy and therefore crashed. Also the pilot was drunk and/or fairly new at piloting.

It's kinda sad that I began to get into her music shortly before she died.

truly, 6 years ago...it seems so long ago. :(

I cried when I heard she had died and so tragically too. I love all of her songs but out of them all I loved Journey to the Past. It was beautifully written and sung. My friend and I would always make about stories Aaliyah and sometimes jokes (it's was in a good way) *sigh*...but I loved Aaliyah and I will always love her. T_T

It really does. I remember hearing it on the radio and going "Aaliyah? As in the singer??". Truly unbelievable. And then we lost Lisa "Left Eye" 9 months later to the day.... :(

^Yea...I thought it was curse or something! I admit that I didn't cry when Lisa died but I was so sad bcuz...that was the end TLC! T_T

I had no idea who Aaliyah was unitill 2005 when I heard Try again for the first time, so so sad.

I remember her death was such a shock to a lot of people, including me. Such a sad ending to a young life. May she rest in peace :heart

haven't listning to Aaliyah but this is sad R.I.P
