Sorry to be blunt, but god.

it's REALLY tacky to name your first album after yourself.

jeez, its like "SA" by Suzuki Ami. What the hell is up with this?

I wonder, are they all just conceited?

Do you know how many artists have done that? I could easily name like 50 off the top of my head. I don't think it's conceited, but I would never do it if I were an artist.

Anyways, I love her music and I thought I was the only one who knew about her since she's so underground-esque. Well I might be buying it. I'm just happy she's releasing an album, as I thought her sales wouldn't be good enough to warrant one.

That's what im saying. So many artists have done it. I hate it.

I dunno, it really annoys me, though.

I think if Ayumi had done it i wouldn't have listened to her.

I think it makes it more personal when they name the album with the their name.

I disagree.

I think your name is so ... just, not personal. you use it all your life and everybody knows it anyway. I think, in terms of being personal and meaningful, album titles like Memorial address, RAINBOW, I am..., MY STORY (especially that one ...) and Secret all do a far better job than "Ayumi Hamasaki" or "A<3H" would have in making it personal.

I guess they just think it makes it more personal.

Well I didn't mean to start a discussion about album titles. I think self titling an album is okay. A lot of artist do it. It could be personal depending on how you look at it. I'm excited about the album. I posted this thread because I wanted more people to be familiar with Ayuse.

By the way, she has another single called "Wish upon a star" coming out on November 14th.

um. has it leaked yet? :D

I heard of her from ThePPN. (She's featured). She sounds cool, so I'll try her. :]

About the self-titled album thing, I'd rather initials than the actual name. E.g. 'Ayumi Hamasaki'. That's when it gets crap.

Impy; 'SA' is an amazing album. :grumpy

I love this girl ever since her debut. If you like pop/light R&B with kind of an electronic flavour, give a listen to Pretty Good, boyfriend and Sundae Love. Her album is one of the best released this year, it should not be overlooked. :D

oooo I love the album! "boyfriend" is really cool <3

thinkingoutloud89 20th October 2007 05:58 PM

I´ll try her out!
and ists always teh first lbum which si anmed after yourself eh? and mostly song on this album are choosen from the company for oyu...so they fit to what people see ya like...maybe that is the reason...it is relly not personal

salina 20th October 2007 07:29 PM

Calico 20th October 2007 09:04 PM

I like AYUSE so I'll probably dl this.

I remember when I used to think that your first album always had to be named after you/your band, because it was so prevalent. I'm thankful that it's now moving away from that (or so it seems) but it doesn't bother me too much. As long as the music's good is all I really care about.
