new song info from HEY!x3 recording

I posted this at jpm so might as well do it here as well.

I just got back from recording of HEY!HEY!HEY! Ayu just got back from LA 3 days ago and she already went on to perform...HER NEW SONG! We were supposedly the first ones to hear the song. And everyone...it's a BALLAD! I would say it's more like a "No way to say" type of ballad than even slower ones like "CAROLS" or "HEAVEN." The melody from the chorus actually got stuck in my head after only one time. I like it A LOT better than all her songs this year if I have to compare. I wouldn't say this is as good as her greatest hits, but I would say it's a slight level up from works we've been listening to.

I only remember two lines. I could sing it...but then I think all of you would rather hear Ayu's voice instead anyway. So I'll just write the lyrics...

arigatoutte iitakatta
arigatoutte ienakatta

(I wanted to say thank you
I couldn't say thank you)

(NOTE: Not writing in Jpn...in case Avex people started searching the web for lyrics lol)

She sang the song twice...because I think she wasn't satisfied with the first take (we could hear the playback from the wall behind us after they left). I think the difference was that the 2nd time she was much more passionate.

Ayu has short hair right now...kinda like her look from the YOU days but slightly shorter. She was VERY cute/kawaii. I rarely say this about her even if I think so...but I really thought she was.

Supposedly this will air in Dec. I will assume they will rush to release this around then. Don't know if it'll be a single or not though. And the song title hasn't been decided. (For those interested, guests on the same show were KAT-TUN, jealkb...and possibly DJ OZMA. I don't know if DJ OZMA was an actual guest or a guest of another guest...)

I was just reading your post at JPM, glad you posted it here too. I hope we get details of a new release soon.

Once again, thanks for the report!

Intresting. A winter ballad again, eh? Can't wait to hear it!!

tethevo 4th November 2007 04:41 PM

I was too overwhelmed by different things that I didn't pay THAT much attention to lyrics.

But on mixi, people seem to think it's as if Ayu's trying to say thank you to a dead/long gone lover but can't anymore (Nagase?). Or at least that's what the song seems to mean.

I HATE No Way to Say! NOOOOOOO >_<

tethevo 4th November 2007 04:46 PM

"No way to say" was just a comparison. Just think of an Ayu semi-rockish ballad.

Beauty4123 4th November 2007 04:49 PM

ahh, sounds nice! can't wait.

Streya 4th November 2007 04:54 PM

thanks for the info!

Coelacanth 4th November 2007 04:59 PM

Ooooh, thanks so much for the info.

I wonder if the song will be called "Thank you" or something, lol.

Anything interesting in the song, like a vocal bridge or guitar solo or anything?

tethevo 4th November 2007 05:02 PM

Umm...umm...not really. The song started out slow...and then verse...and then bridge with Peco doing backup...and then chorus. Structurally speaking, I didn't think it was that innovative. But, whenever the song started, I thought her voice + melody + the quiet instrumental were very beautiful...for some reason.

I'm just scared if the reason why I like it so much is because I saw this live. haha Hopefully the real thing is as good.

That's okay. So far, my favorite song this year is t2m, and the structure of that song isn't very innovative either.

As long as the melody and vocals are top notch, it doesn't have to have a great amount of variation.

.. so how did they annouce her performance? "this is Ayumi Hamasaki with her new song with no name".. :S how can they not have a name.. o well; we'll get the news soon enough :D I dun like ballads much; but since Ayu gave me T2M/decision; this will be a nice variation.

AyuGAME 4th November 2007 05:11 PM

WOW..WOW..BALLAD!!!!
thanks for the info...can't wait to hear it...WOW..WOW...so exciting

tethevo 4th November 2007 05:12 PM

"You guys are here to see Hamasaki Ayumi. This is a new song. (audiences goes OOOH) I think you all are the first ones to hear it as this is the first live recording. blah blah blah"

If this was the song Ayu was working on in LA, then I suppose they were really rushing to get her ready in time for Hx3. I suppose Ayu's just taking her time to decide.
