Fan-album "Moon" & the early Ayu
 

So I've downloaded the fan album "Moon" with a lot of old Ayu songs, but she doesn't sound like herself at all in the songs! Not that she sounds young or anything, but just like an entirely different person. And she doesn't look like Ayu at all on the cover either. Well, a little bit. But just a little. Did she go through some huge plastic surgery that changed her voice as well?

Aging...?

Clever remark, but like I said, it doesn't look nor sound like just the young Ayu. A Song for XX/LOVEppears sounds like a young Ayu. Moon sounds mature. o_O Kind of like Ai Otsuka. I guess the cover is kind of Ayu like but, meh, there's something off, IMO. Her mouth looks way different when she smiles, and smiling is a primitive emotion thing that remains the same throughout someone's life. Lol, wow, she really does sound kind of like Ai Otsuka.. Weird. XDD

Those songs were from the mid 90s and a lot happens in just a few years when you're around that age. I never really heard of plastic surgery affecting your voice..

Well to be honest, in her younger days she obviously didn't wear as much make up as she does now :laugh She looked a lot more natural. As for her voice, in those older songs she sang pretty low (kinda like she's doing now), for her first album till like some songs in MY STORY (maybe even now if it's slipped my me xD) she sang in a higher pitch, but she had less control over her voice that way (thus why she didn't really get much vibrato in for a while). You know how Japan is, you just gotta be cute :P

Also, Ayu's had tooth repair done.. she used to have really crooked teeth.. which could/would explain a different smile.. plus aging.. I'm sorry, but my smile has changed a LOT in the past 10 years as well

Ayu had [porcelain] veneers done or something like that.

They were done post-fairyland and pre-HEAVEN.

It's VERY obvious when she did it, as her teeth go from slightly jagged/crooked to PERFECT in the next single.

Of course, I think she deserves to have a perfect smile if she wants one :p

Most celebrities get it done though. If I had crooked teeth and got my picture taken constantly, I'd do it too. I'm surprised she didn't do it earlier.
